Cooler live well and bait fishing
Rickshaw swami replied to Wolfdog91's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
I'm guessing you are using them for catfish? My little brother is on a mission to break the state record. He mostly uses skipjack. We learned to catch them with sabiki rig like you use in saltwater. He did use some live bream.I think it's illegal here now but not sure. You can buy a powder to add to your livewell to help them stay alive when it's miserable heat outside. Here is some of his recent catches. 51 lb flathead catfish 50lb blue cat P.S. The bed of you're truck looks just like every redneck poaching plowboy in Dixie.? -
Yesterday was my oldest daughter's sixteenth birthday. We spent time slinging arrows.I kayaked some of this stingray out for shark bait about 3 am this morning.I have hooked into 2 large sharks that have destroyed my reels. I kayak baits about 200 yards from shore and drop it.Then go back to pier.I was using 8 foot of steel leader but the sharks was longer than that.Their skin is like sandpaper and will cut your fishing line.I have rigged 12 foot of leader for tonight so if they don't destroy my reel gears I might have a chance tonight.Hopefully I will have a picture of a monster by

There's an old saying in Dixie "That boy is shoving money up a wild hogs ass"

Out on the kayaks for the first time this year!
Rickshaw swami replied to Tyla's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Thanks y'all for the advice.I have spent alot of time hunting terriers from kayak and bowfishing from kayak. But saltwater is a different story.I have been out about a dozen times total. The furthest I have been is 3 miles from shore. This trip I will be shark fishing at night on the backside of an island in the gulf of Mexico. Native propel 13ft I have been pleased with this kayak. You can quickly remove the peddle drive. You can stand up easily in calm water. 2 faults I've found is it takes an ocean to turn around because of ruddder 2 it's heavy. My little brother took his new home built contraption on a test run last night. He said it worked good.He bought a $40 crossbow from internet.Twisted the string to gain more poundage.Added a bottle reel.We are hoping to try it out on stingray next weekend.

Looks like fun I have been addicted to kayak fishing a few years now.Im headed to Florida next weekend in the kayak. What size kayak is best for yalls water?Do y'all have paddle or peddle kayaks?Sorry for all the questions.Im still learning and there's not much room for error out there lol. -
Foxes eat better than dogs in Dixie ?
-
Looks just like I would imagine thanks.Hope it works for them. Some catahoulas are catchy but they are bred to bay as a breed so it may depend on bloodline. If you hear that it has bitten It s owner then tell him to bite him in return on the ear and piss in his water bowl.Works Everytime ?Damn them Cajuns?

Calcium phosphorus ratio is 2:1 for pups and it's 1:1 on an adult feed if I'm not mistaken.

I used to have it.I gave it to a kid who wanted to learn.California jack books are good info for antibiotics and general care.I think the one I had was called indespencible tips.

Thanks this where most historians believe it came from. The battle of Blair mountain.Their has been white slaves aross Dixie in different forms. These people endured hell.My grandparents lived through those times. Pure bred men keep outcross dogs and outcross men keep purebred dogs DM ?

We don't have potato guns.We have tater guns lol

I had a couple lurchers that was scared of terriers.? As far as duel purpose hogdogs guard dogs like the catahoulas I believe the old saying jack of all trades master of none. Not that you can't get a good one but we didn't breed them. The smartest guard dogs I've ever been around were all mutts from the pound. These same dogs were with their owners all the time.It makes wonder how much of guard dog is the handler. As my father always said the number one rule for dogs is the owner must be smarter than the dog.

Your welcome too. I can teach you to chew tobacco You must bring your own guns and a trump flag. The term redneck came from the coalmines as the workers wore them.I tried to search on internet for definition of black neck and some horrible things popped up on the screen.Lost my supper.
-
I believe you right. Some look like short haired Australian shepherds. Some look like blue bull lurchers. The best one my father had look like a blue merle whippet. She was a good baydog hogdog but wouldn't hunt with strangers. If you brought a couple strangers she would go hide under the nearest tree. They either was like this or good guard dogs not much in between.I blame it on the voodoo them Cajuns believe in.

This explains catahoulas better than anything if y'all can understand they speak half English half french .
-
I never owned a pigdog lol In hog dogs the only ones known for guarding traits is catahoulas.Half of catahoulas are scared of their own shadow. The other half will eat you and ask for seconds. This is the reason we never kept many of them. They are inconsistent though but good hunters.I hunted everything from groundhog to wild boar with em .Those crazy Cajuns who invented them expected them to put supper on the table every night and guard the place while they slept.

Mr Sussex You are correct.Being rich doesn't make you an idiot. When a rich man with no background in hunting buys a farm and a high-powered rifle with no previous gun experience and then shoots at everything from a twitching leaf to a jersey cow I say that's an idiot. Then he will argue with a dogman that we are disturbing HIS DEER.As if he owns them. This has happened all across Dixie which is why most dog hunters have packed it in.I don't hunt on Saturday anymore I would rather work and hunt midweek. Its safer. I don't hate deer hunters as most of my family is heavily involved.M

??? You're a smart man.Never trust a man in a Cadillac.Coincidentally Cadillac builds hearses in America also.???
-
Where I live rich men with no clue have bought the land and started hunting whitetail.I wouldn't trust these men with a slingshot much less a rifle. The true deer hunters attempt to be sportsman. The rich men hunting around here now have shot cows, horses, dogs, goats even each other.I have seen crippled deer in the field behind my house. The point I was trying to make is buying a high powered rifle doesn't make you a deer hunter nor a sportsman.Turkey season just ended. While it was open a man shot another man and his son on accident. These same men call me barbaric. When one of these idiots shoots m

A young whitetail deer in USA will bleat like a dieing goat when not shot through the vitals. The older ones won't.
-
I know someone who uses them. The male looks like something from a horror movie roaming around. The problem is if a Caucasian Shepherd decides to jump on a bulldog it's over before it starts and could cost you your whole breeding program.Thats why most dogmen kept a hound for alarm system as they would avoid bulldogs.
-
Most don't but some do.ive seen malinoise presas and others used. Carver kept a big white bulldog similar to an American bulldog. The old real dogmen lived way out in the middle of nowhere and stayed with their dogs mostly and didn't allow visits or sell dogs so wasn't really a need. Most of these men had a hound that run loose and would bark at strangers more than bite unless you approached them. Most who lived in civilization kept a man biting bulldog right inside the gate so a stranger would be bit as soon as he entered.
