    I'm guessing you are using them for catfish? My little brother is on a mission to break the state record.He mostly uses skipjack.We learned to catch them with sabiki rig like you use in saltwater.He did use some live bream.I think it's illegal here now but not sure.You can buy a powder to add to your livewell to help them stay alive when it's miserable heat outside.     Yesterday was my oldest daughter's sixteenth birthday.We spent time slinging arrows.I kayaked some of this stingray out for shark bait about 3 am this morning.I have hooked into 2 large sharks that have destroyed my reels. I kayak baits about 200 yards from shore and drop it.Then go back to pier.I was using 8 foot of steel leader but the sharks was longer than that.Their skin is like sandpaper and will cut your fishing line.I have rigged 12 foot of leader for tonight so if they don't destroy my reel gears I might have a chance tonight.Hopefully I will have a picture of a monster by

    Thanks y'all for the advice.I have spent alot of time hunting terriers from kayak and bowfishing from kayak.But saltwater is a different story.I have been out about a dozen times total.The furthest I have been is 3 miles from shore.This trip I will be shark fishing at night on the backside of an island in the gulf of Mexico. Native propel 13ft I have been pleased with this kayak.You can quickly remove the peddle drive.You can stand up easily in calm water. 2 faults I've found is it takes an ocean to turn around because of ruddder 2 it's heavy.
