Personally I believe that the American bulldog is a relatively new breed created by some brokedick rednecks who were to lazy to work.Just my opinion

Catahoulas are a one person dog.They will hunt for you but when it comes to strangers they either run or bite.Them Cajuns must have used them dogs for live gator bait as their nerves are shot.

Plott history is very secretive.Its like joining a secret society.Your a plottman or not.I have talked to a few who were close to plott family and there's no proof of bulldog blood Alot of curs and Feist squirrel dogs will be brindle and some of them are scared of a squirrel lol.In the pure lines of plott they will throw a buckskin every now and then. Plotts don't live to be old generally.Plottmen start the season with a dozen dogs.Sometimes they won't have but one by end of season but nothing gets away bear or hog.3 good bred plotts will stretch a medium sized black bear.But they will die for

I also believe gameness in dogs come from terrier blood but don't bring that up around the founders of American bulldog ?they get upset.

Most curs are used for squirrel hunting and will quit when hit by a hog.the best curs I seen were usually called blackmouth curs.ive seen these take some punishment.I seen one or two good kemmer curs.catahoulas are weird.plotthounds are technically a cur.outside of apbt blood they are the toughest.They are kept very secretive in the smoky mtns.The ones on the internet are useless.The men in those mountains consider me an outsider as I live 2 hours away lol.I have watched some plotthounds get put back together like a puzzle by a redneck with a staple gun.When the dog whimpered the owner said he

Sorry Mr Bosun I made these posts about Alan to try to avoid a waste of time for y'all.Sorry I was late. Since I'm destroying dreams I was around a few Argentina dogos.The ones in America look awesome but are cowardly compared to a bulldog(apbt)I've seen blackmouth curs who were tougher than the dogos I seen .as always just my opinion but hope it saves someone a few dollars.

I would never discount the American bulldogs guarding ability seen a few work the sleeve pretty impressive.As far as hog dogs the only decent American bulldogs were crosses to bird dogs.They were baydogs.An American bulldog is not a true catchdog in Dixie in my opinion. I have never made a profit from a dog.My father could though he didn't do it from peddling pups.My father would always keep an eye out for a greenhorn dogman who had purchased a big name pup in coonhunting or hogdogs.These greenhorns would raise the pup until a year old and lose interest.My dad would purchase this dog after the fun had wore off.My dad would hunt this dog six nights a week until the dog appeared better than he was then my dad would sell him for good money.The next owner would only hunt the dog once a month and he would look like shit.My dad made some money this way.As far as me -
30-45 lbs was the weight on all the good ones.when you got a bulldog on a leash running through a canebrake swamp small catchdog is handy.Anything over 45-50lbs my dad always said was simply a large target lol

Alot of our baydogs we're cur jag or pit German wirehaired pointer cross.The catch dog isn't released until your 30 foot from hog.All pits will not catch on ear but this is what you want.Some of the best were cold dogs if y'all understand this term.Cold dogs from boxdogs seemed to take an ear hold mostly regardless of bloodline.Atrue catchdog in my opinion takes one bite on the ear as hard as he can.This isn't trained nor does it reproduce consistent.In Dixie most folks leg the hog live so things are done different.1 bay dog then 1 catch dog usually the baydog will catch naturally after the ca

We have very few Gators but plenty of cottonmouths.Worse part of hog hunting is ticks.I have seen 3 different men get lime disease.Hogs can run for miles especially in hill country.When you catch up to the Bay you puking from running so hard.Leg a boar hog who is kicking your brains out then handcuff him then tote hog and a dog all the way back to truck covered in ticks.Then go spend the rest of the night giving your money to vet office.Good times?

Yes but not broadcasted much like chicken Derby.If you don't talk as slow as me then they get tight lipped.Theres boys in hills and swamps who have a catch dog a baydog and a knife.No publicity.Some can't read and write.Not making light as these are my kinsmen.I watched 2 good ole boys run down 2 piglets to eat.They needed the food.My dad give them 500 for their best baydog.Hardest part nowadays is a good veterinarian.Its extremely gruesome and the vet bills mount up quickly.Vets generally require photo proof of the hog because it looks really bad.I had a baydog (running catchdog) dissembowele

He bragged of making trips to y'all's side.Most real dogmen can see through him.He gifted me an undershot male pat last year.About 18 months old.I don't think that terrier would have went to ground for steak nor p#@&y.I wish him no harm but he's a hustler and peddler.

I growed up hog hunting with Alan Scott.Hes just another peddler in my area.His Pat's won't enter.His catahoulas are scared of their own shadow.His bulldogs never went hunting.Every time I hunted with him I was asked to bring a catchdog.Mine were apbt.Alan only ever had one good hog dog it was a Rhodesian ridgeback.Sorry to bust anyone's bubble.

I live in Dixie with some of the most laxed gun laws in the country.I have carried a gun since I was a teenager.I also sleep with my doors unlocked and keys in my truck.I have never lived any other way so wouldn't know different anyways.
