I get the impression jamie likes bore snakes, it's quite well known I think that I'm not a fan at all...but hey ...forums..that's what they are all about...a mixture of views and opinions i wouldnt use one on the centrefire inless i have only had a couple of shots then i would. the key to the boresnake is to make sure you pull it out level and not at a angle because it could rub the crown. i would never use a bronze brush in my rifles as i think they do more harm then good. nylon brushes on the other hand are perfect. the only reason i dont use a rod on rimfires is becaus

Don't know but it looks like a Titan, predecessor of the Falcon!!! Try asking the guys here... http://falconowners.myfastforum.org/

AA Field certainly worth a try, Acupels are a good pellet but not that keen on the loading probe of a lot of PCP guns, Bisley Magnum I suggest are rather too heavy for most 12ft lb guns...try as many as you can and you will find the best!!

I've just had an invite to a duck shoot in sundrenched Berkshire...a specialist, pre prepared, home grown here they are shoot them event. Not my normal bag but seemed rude to refuse as the day is normally £200 and bags of 30-40 are suggested (which I'm told is very good value). Anyway...I understand there will be plenty of birds but challenging ones too, some high apparently....getting the idea...I know nothing about this sort of duck shoot so, what sort of cartridge do you suggest please, and is my trusty 391 Semi acceptable or do I need to take the 686 or Silver Pigeon? Thanks

Got one and had a fair degree of success with it..doesn't always work though but nothing ever does!! -
Looks great fun !!!

Now that's the way it should be..forget the size and look at the topography...but I have to say round my way you would not stand and ice cube in hell chance of getting a .22LR and a .223Rem on 4 acres even if the backstop was a sheer rock face!!

I've used some of these tables over the years and found them a useful guide, never found one that was accurate. Simple reason is there is quality of production/tolerence/weight of the pellets, barrel conditions/length....power of gun...whose chrono is correct, it goes on and on...then there is the guestimation/quality control that goes into producing the tables themselves!! They can be helpful... but never trust them, use as a guide and then check in the field yourself !!!

If we are talking .22LR and you only use sub sonic LEAD...then just clean the barrel from time to time and 200-400 shots later the barrel will probably be broken in. If you use high velocity copper coated ammo you will need a bit of copper solvent as well as general cleaning but you will break in the barrel much quicker. We all spend good money on our pride and joy so a little bit of care, especially in the very early days should pay dividends, even with a .22LR. There are those that never break in a barrel and say there is no need, I strongly dissagree, however, look at it this wa

makes sense deker..... Funny you mention the bit about "kept a copy of your certificate before you sent it off" as it happens I mentioned that to them as well. I was told it would show the words FAKE across the cert and this was not really a good thing to do and if I did copy it I was to destroy it asap once I get the amended cert through. I honestly took it as if they did not want the cert copied ( although this was never directly said to me ) So I did not copy it. ( go on call me a fool, I can handle it....lol ) Thanks They are correct..the latest certificates do show the w

Yeh..they do look in pretty fair condition, especially as I get the impression you hit them with the shotgun!!!
-
I would largely go along with SS here but I hope and trust you kept a copy of your certificate before you sent it off....You do NOT need to carry your certificate and just because you have sent it to the police it doesn't mean you don't have a certificate, it is simply not in your possession. With regards anything they have told you verbally they will do for you certificate...then it's simple...when you get a certificate saying it is done then it is legal..until you have the paperwork forget it!!!

About 50-60 miles from me but been in there, not a bad store...at least one very tasty lady working there and they seem to reasonably know their stuff, as well as being helpful...all in all I came away with a pretty good impression, so hope it all works out!!

Practice, get the gun balanced as well as possible, practice and build your muscle groups!! Alternatively, buy some sticks

Always fun to try with these things but I have to agree with the above. I've also tried a few tests into phone books and it is very difficult to do it scientifically as a spine one side and open the other, also every shot opens the pages a bit, anyway......!!
