Look, I'm a respectable shot with anything and a fraction better with a target tool. I hear comments along these lines all the time, rigidity, not bedded, stock flexing...so what? A badly suited round/gusting conditions/etc, will likely cause more problem than these isssues. It's a 22-250, does it matter if you can put them all in the same hole or have a 1" spread? And consider a .243 and lighter V Max ammo, stonking calibre and ammo and so easy to shoot over a 22-250!

Look, I don't know and I don't reload, I know **** all first hand about the 17 centrefires really, but from what I hear that is unbelievable. Help me out, a breakdown of that would be interesting, forget all the background equipment required lets just settle for the basic cartridge costs Case Head Powder Primer You can do all that for 20p a round? :hmm:

Guys I don't have, and don't know a great deal about the 17 CF. You have to help me out here, despite your possible first reactions I am not trying to take the piss, but why bother? The 17 are reasonably fast, the .243 (for instance) is conceivably faster, hits harder and is arguably much more versatile, and by all accounts doesn't cost any more! So, what does the 17 have going for it? :hmm:

Whats the story with this, is it still available? -
This is what happens when you put the 5th one in Deker, but it is .243 @ 100yds..... M Ha Ha, .243 is easy, mine go in the same hole! But after 3 in the same hole I stop wasting ammo! Couple of clicks left and a few down perhaps!? Good shooting Martin,.......... and yes I didn't let go the 5th because as soon as I saw the group I got nervous, and instinctivly knew in that state I couldn't put a 5th in. .... ...but 3 and 4 were as close to the same hole as you could get. ATB!

Having a tidy up and found these, surplus to requirements, so here goes...... BOTH sets of mounts are new and never mounted, both are Double screw ALL round and both are 9-11 or 3/8 fitting with 1inch tube. Hawke Match Mounts LOW Mounts £11 posted! Rhino HIGH Mounts £11 posted. Any questions fire away! Cheers Deker

I throttle any downed but not out birds - pass out within 10 secs, dead shortly after. Strangely peaceful and satisfying (does that make me a bad person? ) D. ha ha..probably... What you really need to do is swing them as hard as you can and smash their head on the edge of a water butt, lay them flat and stamp on their head, give them to the terrior to rip apart, drown them, etc, etc...you know.... or failing that, perhaps one of these..... http://www.solwayfee...p7401-c357.html

Looking for rimmie, Magtech any good?
Deker replied to The Duncan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
In what respect, not as accurate, not as reliable? Some rifles MAY look prettier, but pretty doesn't stop things, there is plenty of trigger work you can do on a CZ for next to no money if you need to. Does the quality of the wood make it shoot better...NO! So ........... they dont come close to the likes of Anschutz, Sako or Weihrauch,.............. Just what does that mean, they cost a load more and look prettier (not the Weihrauch ), because they certainly DON'T shoot any better for field work, and just what more do you want of a rifle? -
Don't stand if you can sit, don't sit if you can lay down. Take every advantage available for every shot, if that means prone and a bipod that will usually bring the best results. Same applies to EVERY caribre! ATB!

Not silly at all, because that came to my mind as well , cats will often eat a head and can often be lacking in the brains dept! This whole thing is very un fox like, the polecat family may well have something to do with this , but various things here say the fox doesn't! This doesn't look like any bird work either. First choice would be Polecat Family then cats!

Need help on choosing the best gun for the job
Deker replied to kingjohn1966's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
anyone with an "open" firearms ticket, could shoot in the garden as you aunt suggests, lots of things need to be checked first though, and prices are normally pretty high per fox, although there is one fellow on here that makes his living from dispatching london foxes, youd mostly be looking at becoming a pest controller, to do that kind of job, money can be shite until your quailified, and your normal work is more likely to be baiting with poisons, for rats, mice, etc, wasps nests and cockroaches all of my foxing and rabbit shooting get done in my spare time, rather than as paid jobs (apart f -
First observation is KEEP BOTH, and get something else in between as well, but lets assume there is a good reason why two will have to go and be replaced by one. Do you reload? If so pretty much whatever you want! If not get a .243, and quite probably get a .243 anyway!!

Well, I can't seem to find his number myself now, if anyone does turn up with it can you let me know as well please! Cheers

david.mercer80@ntlworld.com This should help, I have his number somewhere but someone will probably get it up before I find it!

You said... why take it to be assessed, I didn't! But just why should being curius about it turn me into a trophy hunter? I KNEW it was a decent head and my shooting buddy that day was very excited, he took it to the show for marking, actually he prepared it as well, I've not seen it since the day it was shot!! Kindly go and crawl back in your hole and let the adults get on with things, Mr L has NOTHING to do with this in any way shape or form! Spelling as good as reading ! Classic. If you must know my O on my keyboard is a problem, happy now, I bet you feel really plea

I'm lost, never done this before and waiting the full report from my man who took it to the show, but it was CIC who did it there! Whats the 90 day business about? Cheers
-
My understanding is It has been properly assessesed/measured/weighed/whatever, I will get the full details in the next few hours or day or so, the service was being offered at the Midland, thats why it was taken there!
-
You may remember this from a few weeks back, in the field and after prep. I've just had a call from my man at the Midland who has just received confirmation it made GOLD! As I said before, I'm not a trophy hunter, this is work, and every now and again something like this turns up, but I don't deny I'm still quite chuffed!
