The real issue in all of this is that not one person , or institution seems to take any sort of action to get any police force to justify these things. for example the doctors ticket. How can basic, who are supposed to support the sport jump on the band wagon and source some random doctor to fill in a form for anyone. That doctor has never met the applicant and knows dimly squat about the person. I saw peter Kay repeat comedy shuffle on the box the other day. When I originally saw it, It was funny but I was left flat the other day. I remember going to see a comedian on stage and it was very funny ... until the bloke started to sing. The whole night was ruined. The crowd left looking as if they'd lost a fiver down the back of the seat.

I read some things that don't mean much to me. such as ...well..l../..you get the impression that if you ain't armed with an over under of 30+ inch barrels with a full set of change over chokes and an adjustable single trigger,, then you ain't got any chance of hitting anything. . That side by sides kick like muĺes. Ect, Tec. Perhaps it is me that is the oddball because it don't matter what the gun is.

Son in law is right handed but left master eye. Before I realised this He was standing sort of skewed right round sideways getting his jaw battered about and shot maybe 3 out of 10 on a stand. When I realised this I squared him up and told him to close the left eye keeping the gun in the right shoulder. Next stand he cleared 10 out of 10 wiping the floor with one of the other son in laws who took the mickey. Personally I dont notice the bead on any gun. See it, follow through and kill.

Ed's Red doesn't go old / out of date... if the bottle /container is kept closed because part of the liquid is cellulose thinner which will evaporate if left open to the air. BUT IF IT was to dry out more thinners could be added to the oil part. It is so good that you can wipe the outsized down. It lasts for months if not years. Give it a look. Ps. 22lr barrels don't really need ridding. I've known blokes who shoot to a very high accuracy and haven't cleaned the bore for twenty years and more. If I clean my Anschutz target rifle it taķes about 50 rounds to settle back down to zero. An

Shotguns yes but rifle accuracy can really be affected by cleaning. Then there is cleaning and cleaning. Some just pull a snake through or a patch. This might make the barrels look clean but if you use a solvent as above and a phosphor bronze brush , the crap comes out the barrel as if it was waste oil. Personally I use Ed' red which I make myself. (Look at receipe online) make half a gallon for pennies. Use it for the next twenty years. The terra gun stuff is good BUT all these bought cleaners are a small fortune for what they are. Use Ed's red. It's blooming good and cheap.

I didn't intend to demine your ideas of what you what to build. I am just a morning old git .but there you go. What I was on about really was why try to reinvent the wheel. I shoot .word. .222. .223. 243 and 270. All of these are what would be considered standard calls. So why is it felt nessessary for wildcatters to convert everything into something else which isn't nessessary. I use a Win mod 70 in 223 which I have slightly worked by glass bedding the action and barrel. The bolt has been smoothed so that it engages and disengaged quietly and smoothly. Well. I find it odd the different interpretation of a gun there is between Murica and this side of the water. IF I had the want and the option of building a new ....target/varmint rifle then I wouldn't be using a 1:8 twist and I wouldn't be making it on an AR platform. I know that my statement makes me out like a down player. BUT surely either a target weapon or a varminter relies on high accuracy which neither the 1:8 or an automatic action are likely to produce. I can appreciate that some have a rough time off it but that don't alter the fact that going out liberating stuff is wrong. There is so much stuff being dumped because you can't give stuff away. The charity shops won't even take most stuff unless it's almost like new is a good case.

I can never understand why people insist on zoom power scopes on rimfires. On my cf,s I've got Zeiss, Leupold, Habict scopes which cost hundreds of pounds...... but on my 22rf I've got an old 2.75x40 fixed power Tasco from the 1980s. It's a brilliant scope. very Clear optics as good as the expensive stuff. Good low light vision with a very wide ocular angle of view... no black ring. Why does anyone need high power on a 22 rimfire. Probably only using it out to 100 paces. at A rabbit . There's so much to go wrong with a cheap zoom and a fixed power is much better pond for pound. One year I took 14 nests locally to our house . The kids got stung, The wife got stung... twice on the same hand but the line was crossed when there were 3 of the blighters burrowing into the spaniel fur to sting her. Another crazy thing is that if you want a silencer for a non fac air rifle you don't need a slot for it. But if you want it for say a .22 rd then you do have to have a slot for it on the fax for that rifle.... even though it might be the same silencer. .? Now if you were using a silencer which had been alocated for an air rifle on an fax rifle which didn't have a slot alocation then you could be in the poop ..but who would really know and what difference does it make anyway. Like when they didn't want anyone to have one and then total reversal. ..yiu can have as many as you like. Crazy.

That's a good idea..... but a minor issue. .....it's ok if the ground is dry but here in the UK it is mostly wet, the fields are home to either sheep or cows and the grass can be reasonably long. As a result if your laying on the ground it is either laying water or soaking wet long grass with either sloppy cow or sheep muck. If I use the biPod it is off of a vehicle. Either the bonnet (hood) or the roof. This is to gain hight and be able to get a better view of the target and not lay in a load of crap. The pointy legs would more than not skid all over the metalwork. Good idea though

A few years ago I was on a forum called coyote gods. It was a specialist group of guys that hunted the coyote. Along with some like me from all over the world. Now these guys often came to verbal online conflict with other coyote hunters. The forum was driven by a guy called John Henry. Not that there's anyone out there,, it would all be down to interpretation as to whether you had or hadn't used a light. IF there had been an encounter they might decide to destroy the bag. It would be down to you to proven that you had broken the law. No way to do this.

You thought about the same as me. Perhaps your thing is ferreting, thus the spade. I would be out there with a shotgun so my take is to shoot. I was as guilty of not reading which section the post was in. Normally I would only shoot about three at a time to fit in the pressure cooker for the dogs.
