I've seen dogs of 25" do coyotes, but they struggle,...my dogs have hunted big and small quarry, the Blister dog I have is 29" and around 75-80lbs,...his first season, he killed 73 hares single handed, hunted up,...also a good dog on toothed game,...best night was 2 gray fox, 14 hares and 8 rabbits, still sound as a pound at 5 1/2 year old.

Never understood needing big fields, just coz the dogs are big!? All my dogs have lamped rabbits, even in junk yards! I like a bigger dog, and mine have caught rabbits everywhere, and my two best dogs are 29" and 31" and 75-80lbs...a good dog, even a big one, is good everywhere.

Not going to go into to much detail, some owners, and there dogs are still alive, some are gone now, to the happy hunting ground in the sky. A 140lbs Mt Lion was killed buy 4 Staghounds, I know of a 75lbs Mt Lion killed in New Mexico, with one Staghound, and a Bull Stag took a MtLion. Not sure the weight, but think it was around 90lbs.

Thanks mate,..yeah, Stitch is a wonderful dog, and Tor has done me prou d, despite her horrendous injurys,...I have my fingers crossed for the breeding!..it may be wishful thinking, but she looks to be carrying pups to me! Kye

Hi guys,.. ive had one bobcat to ground, in a rock pile, with a terrier,..it was cool and i would do it again, but it wasnt all that great. bobcats have been hunted with staghounds and bull x stags, and the dogs go through them like butter,...i also know of a few dogs that have KILLED Mt.lion,...you can call bull shit on it if you want, i dont care, but it can be done, has been done, and will be done again...im not naming people or dogs, but these guys and there dogs, are/where the real deal. Kye..

Hey Macker,.. Thanks for the comments about my bitch Tor,...she 'aint no world beater, but has been through hell and high water with me, and done well at what i use her for...lets hope that the Stitch x Tor breeding is good, and that she is even pregnant!...should be handy for all game i would think? Kye..

Dan, that lads back home are not used to how you hunt mate,... If you had two more dogs on your yard that could share the work load, i think you would get great results!...your dogs are fed good, and they see MORE than enough work!...they are very fit mate, but on the game you run, on your ground, with your regularity, they could do with a little more rest i think mate,...i could be wrong, wont be the first time!..lol. kye,..

Being from England, i used to think like many of you guys,..."Only breed from tried and tested dogs"...blah, blah f*****g blah!..lol. I will say this!...having worked dogs on BOTH sides of the ponds, i think that as a whole, the terriers over here are not as good as back home. Having said that, i have seen and currently own yank bred dogs that i would take back and dig infront of anyone. The sighthounds over here are much better!...these lads run there dogs on ground that would KILL collie bred lurchers!...frozen plough, rock, scree, stuff i would have NEVER think a dog capable of ru

There are good and bad, workers and culls in EVERY line of dog...fact.

First off, Hyenas aint even dogs!...lol...secondly, if you go on YouTube, and type in 'Dog attack styles' you will see some comparisons...the Mastiff has the strongest on that test at over 500lbs+ pressure... IMO, PitBulls dont have that much bite pressure, but then again, they where not bred to have super strong bites,...im not saying they DONT bite hard, obviously they DO!...lol...but that is not the first criteria in the breeding of such animals.. Kye..

Hi RK,.. Ive been talking to Dan Edwards, and he lives just up the road from me (about 3-4hrs) and he runs them July hounds on yotes, and he sometimes gets them up pipes,...hopefully this coming season i will be able to get out with him, and find out what Cadno does?!...im guessing he will bay, as he is NOT a hard dog, but if a strange dog gets on the yard, he thinks nothing of throttling it!...and being that a coyote is a canine, maybe he would be harder on them?...ive realy no idea?...i sure wouldnt want to 'waste' a good digging dog on trying them on yotes, but as the dog is so big, an

17" and 33lbs...last season was his first, cant wait to see him go this following season!

My Ex was a phsyco c**t, best thing i did was leave her,..put up with that shit forever!.. I dont deal with that know,...i said my disclaimer, before i even hooked up with the current good lady!..."Im shit at fixing anything, im naturaly lazy, get bored easily, and if i dont wanna do it, i probably wont!"... I do what i want, when i want,...she does the same,...she goes and spends time with her kids in other states, and visits her family, and has a great time, and she comes and goes as she pleases,...no hassle, no big deal,...i train when i want, and go out when i want,...its no big d

There are plenty of Saluki hybrids in your neck of the woods mate!,...some of the best in the country!...i would try and get ahold of Dutch Salmon,...contact him, and he will help you find summat out, im sure... Kye..
-
Yup, same place mate,...fantastic amount of game to be ran there!
-
Hello mate,.. My wife has two Saluki hybrids, one was bred in the UK and brought over to her buy a good mate,...the other is roughly half Saluki, and half Greyhound with maybe a 1/16th of Stag in there,...she is a VERY good Gyp on fast, edible game!... Are you anywhere near Roswell?...we ran there, and it was AWESOME!...never seen so many Hares!...the cactus is terrible though!... Kye,..
-
No my country, not my dogs, not my quarry,...if there having a good time, why not?...just because its not everyones cup of tea, dont mean its wrong does it? Kye,..

I 100% fully agree with Darcy,...shooting animals with a bow is much more of a test, of markmanship, skill, field craft, of everything,...ive shot many, MANY deer over here with rifles...shot a few Elk as well,...from .243 all the way upto .300 win mag...imo, there is little skill (compared to bow hunting) in harvesting a animal with a rifle...ive seen an Elk shot in its wallow with a bow, and the bow was ony 45lbs draw weight...we where 25 yards from him, and on being shot ( a very good shot, in the heart/lung area) the bull continued to FEED!,...we thought the guy had missed, and as i passed

Looks like a home-raised orphan to me,...definatly a white-tail as well,...white tail deer are actually the fastest, strongest deer for there size ive seen, and they are dog aggresive, they dont give up the ghost, like some other deer species,... Kye...

Obviously some replys on this thread are from lads that have issues with each other, and amoungst themselves, which is fine, and none of my business,...but here is another story of the 'Agro' dog, just to get things back on track,...no pictures, so sorry about that, but this story is true and FR from this forum was there to vouch for it,... We had a pest control call out from a farmer about 20 minutes from my place,...raccoons tearing up feed/building and shitting everywhere, spoiling the hay in the loft,... It was a cold day,...i dont remember how cold, but i remember that when we w

Cheers mate,... Its what the dog deserves, simple as that,...what with the price of fuel, air miles, vet certificates, vet bills that the dog has been through, he has cost me a shit ton!...my kennel block sits unfinished because of that last bill, took him to the Univeristy of Missouri for the operation...exspensive as f**k, especially as they said the dog has a 20% chance of working again!...the vet told me, he had never seen a dog like Agro...he was using his lef to walk, just 12 HOURS after surgery!!!...the vet said it was a miracle!...i think its just good breeding!...lol...i wont go
-
Thanks for the reply Busterdog,....yeah, ive no worries about my dog that i brought over from England...he was tested as best he could of been, and i ended up getting him from a guy up North, that owed me moeny...the dog was in a hellish state....matted fur, and his body was so dirty, when he went to take a piss, his sheath swelled like a ballon, then urine would just dripple out!!!...hell of a state to see such a dog....we went and got him from the guy, and i offered him back to the guy that bred him (as was the deal with the breeder and the Northern lad!)...the breeder said i could have him,

It would be interesting to hear some history on the origins of Mr Stevens terriers...what lines where his orginal dogs from?...how many did he start off with?...etc, etc,.. Kye..

I had forgoten all about that cattle-prod,...aye, im up for a laugh, and i dont mind it being at my exspense,...having the craic is what life is all about....death comes to all, and its the only certain thing in life, so why not have a laugh!?!?!... Last time i saw GM, we was at a show, and i enjoyed catching up with him...he still calls me 'Kye'...lol...always a true sportsman, and a good laugh, i always enjoy myself when i speak to him!..lol...he was with a nice youg girl (his mrs at the time) and we sat and laughed for a few hours...good shit!... Surfing on a Landrover eh!?...soun

choclate dog is a nice stamp off a dog? is it hard? would you compare a coon to a red fox or angry vixen? are the similar?? Sorry for the late reply,... No, the Choc dog is not hard mate...but he gets the job done, and he heels like Jesus,...never let me down, and i would work the dog infront of anyone,...the black dog is his son, and he is the bigger one... A coon is much tougher animal than a fox, in general...it takes a good dog to finish one, that is for sure,...they are a critter to be respected, and are formidable imo... Kye,...
