  1. There wasnt any runts in the litter, if there had of been, they would have been culled asap!... As far as work goes, if they dont do the job that they was bred for, after being reared, fed, and condisioned correctly, and entered, they will be culled, just like any of the dogs on my yard, or Dans yard, or any other home that these pups will be going to...to do otherwise, is a disgrace/insult to the line of dogs that these pups came from, and its the ONLY way that you can have good dogs.
  2. Hey Si,.. Yeah, still around mate, just trying to get on with life!..lol. Fact of the matter is, if you had a group of 5-6 lads, that done the same type of dog work, and where like minded lads, they could have Staghounds like the Yank bred ones...they would have to realy test them, and cull very hard, and that is something most people in the UK are not willing to do... Kye,..
  3. Just wanted to say,...these guys are NOT talking about me!..lol.
  4. Stabs, the dog im talking about is the Chocolate rough dog...Agro.
  5. Pig and Lion= Knife Bear= Spear Not promissing anything to anyone!...i would just like to see if i got the 'minerals' if put in the situatsion.
  6. The pic of the dead coyote, with the gentleman sat infront of the feed store. Black bitch is Timex, and the other dog is Saker (RIP) brother to my Tor bitch, Sire to Doc's Grace (RIP) and grand sire to my Loca bitch, also he would be the uncle to the litter of pups on myyard now.
  7. I cant help you out much with Yote pics lads, Dan, Doc, etc are much more specialised than us!...we are humble hunters, not f*****g snobs like them Coyote boys!..lol. My dogs are used more like Lurchers,...they get to go on everything, and anything,...they get lots of work in the season, as we are out 4-5 nights a week, unless the moon is up. 85% of my work with the big dogs is at night, and we have to cover alot of ground, but the game is there to be had. We normally run outta dogs, NOT game, and we normally take two dogs, working them single handed, just giving them a turn, one at a time,
  8. Guys, scar's 'aint everything,...ive seen some real nice Bull types over here, and they have been on game MUCH bigger and alot more NASTY than anything that lives in the UK, and these dogs have little to no scars. My own dogs have killed hundreds of toothed game, and they are not heavily marked. IMO, alot of scar damage on working dogs, is caused buy poor after care, and being put back to work to soon, with no proper time left to heal properly.
  9. One night we had 5 Raccoon, 2 possom, 2 Feral Cats, and a Coyote.
  10. The aloofness found in some Salukis and there hybrids, is NOT true of all the type, some are very trainable, and are very level headed. Imo, some people use it as an exscuse to breed from stock which is mentaly, not sound, and so the 'cagey' or 'shy' trait is passed on! Why its ok for a Saluki hybrid to be 'moody' and all other cross', not, I don't know!?! A Saluki hybrid should be as fun loving and level headed as ANY dog, imo.

    It's 1.20am,.....

Lol,...yeah, its not like that everyday. I work nights, so I'm used to not getting to bed until 3am. Normaly get up around 11am. It was just a rushed day, and one that started bad. Its not strength training for a full two hours either, more like 45mins of real 'work', the rest I'm learning technique (Olympic Lifts) I'm cutting weight at the moment aswell. 168lbs and 10% bodyfat, can still deadlift 335lbs for 5x5, realy keeping my strength on this cut so far, also on the Paleo Diet, which I like. Thanks for the concern guys, just wanted to say, that was NOT my typical day!
  13. Good Ole Nell, what a girl hey mate? Funnily enough, the best terrier I've ever owned, is in my kennels at the moment, and he is 16" and 23lbs fit!
  14. Got up this morning, first things first, f*****g flat tire on the truck! Get that sorted, drive into town, eat, fight train for two hours, eat, shower, sleep for a bit. Wake up, eat, strength and condisioning for 2hrs, protein shake. Run 3miles, puke up protein shake, run 2 more miles, shower, eat. Go home, can't sleep (probably over training!) Just starting to feel tired, and EVERY bug in Missouri decides it wants to sample 'Tea-and-Crumpet' flavoured blood!...1.20am, and the Mosquitoes are doing my f*****g head in!... Rant over, good night!
  15. I have not seen anything equal a WhiteTail Deer for speed and knowing the land! They fight a dog as well!!...my dogs don't run them, but seen it done buy naughty guys,...
  16. Hope the breeding takes! They are bred right, that's for sure...regarding the distance drove...it cracks me up, when people on here see a litter/dog advertised, and they say..'If only it was closer, I'd snap it up!'...and they only live 3hours away from the dog/litter!!!
  17. Everyone says its a whole different ball game over here (comparing Uk to USA) but, to be honest, I haven't seen one yet,....
  18. Thanks for putting them up Tiff,... We got some good dogs on the yard at the moment,...I wish I could of had a dog like Blister back home in the UK!...talk about versatile!...easily the most all around hunting dog I've had, and certainly one of the best I've seen...BM done a great job breeding him!...from rabbits, squirrels and Hares, upto Coyotes, Fox Raccoon, and everything inbetween, he has done it all, daytime, lamping, on foot, out the truck, with terriers, other Stags, or single handed...just a good honest dog.
  19. If i was back in the UK, i would go for a good Deerhound X Wheaten, with no Greyhound blood at all,....that would be a nice cross i think?
  20. Very true mate, but over here, lads give there running dogs foxs or coon at six to 8 months,...most don't even mess about with that, they just let there dogs see coyotes, some as young as six months...normaly run two made dogs and one pup togther...certainly no harm in waiting, and holding a pup back...I have a litter on the ground, and both the owner of the Sire, and myself are planning on holding them back till there in the 15-18 month age gap.
  21. I have a 3/4 Staghound 1/4 Bull, and she showed NO interest in chasing anything until she was 10 months. Took her out on a wednesday night, showed her Raccoons, showed her dogs killing Raccoons, even a terrier working Raccoons! No interest at all!!!! All her litter mates where doing Badger and Coyote already! Took her out on the Friday, she killed 3! Never seen anything like it before, or since! Just a real "night and day" difference! She is now my main lamping dog!
  22. Lazy dosnt come into it! Mills, used in CONJUNCTION with other methods, are a very handy tool in getting any dog fit! No one method should be used on its own imo.
  23. I wouldn't be keen on breeding from a dog or bitch unless it had 4 seasons of hard graft under its belt, I give the dog an easy first season though!
  24. Dai Dogs, I f*****g love that dog! Sure could use one like that over here!
  25. David try to buy my Blister dog off me when we hunted in Roswell,...cheeky bugger only offered me $800!...lol.
