Nice honest post,.. I would give a young terrier some leeway on its first 12 or so digs myself...maybe thats right, maybe thats wrong?...some dogs take to it like a duck to water, others need a little time...i fully agree with the little welshman..lol...if she done that after two years of hard graft, then you might have room for another...keep at it boys...i would let her heal, then add another week or so...then i would let her mark, and stake her out right next to the hole, and let her watch ANOTHER dog enter...once the quarry had been dug, i would let the red bitch see other dogs ragging it

When i was doing a LOAD of ferreting, i would give my ferrets one outing,...if they didnt work, they where not kept...i used to have about 60 ferrets at the start of the season (roughly late August) and buy the end of the season (Roughly March) i would have about 25...ferrets are just like terriers and lurchers...NOT all of them make the grade...simple as that...i prized my ferrets, and put a lot of time into them, and it sure did pay off!...they realy did work, and where the tamest i have ever seen... Went up north five hours to camp for three days, and i took my two Staghounds, the wife took her Stag X Grey, and a few terriers...we also had a young lad with us, a son of a friend. Beautiful up there!...real nice coursing ground, tough ground in some spots, but mostly ok ground to run a dog on,...cant wait for some snow so we can spot the yotes!.. I think FR should do a DVD about some dog work here in the States...digging coon, possom, ground hogs, maybe even badger(USA)...barn hunting for coon...lurchers taking jack rabbit and coyote...shooting praire dogs with air rifles...maybe a bit of fishing...squirrel hunting....i have NEVER seen dvd's of the quailty that FR can produce...they truly are amazing!...i think that with that type of footage, and a dvd of 90 minutes, lads wouldnt mind paying $50 (roughly 25 quid) for one...after all, the Warrener series, is that exspensive, and the footage and graphics are shite!..lol. how many of you

I dont know how big my Stag pups are know?...pretty fecking big is all i would say!..lol. Nipper, basicly ALL of Roystons hunting land, was at some point or another, mine...I basicly ran my Lurcher to death on the same land...i have seen many VERY good dogs, hobble there way back to the van at the end of a hard day/night.. I have seen Roystons little Beddie cross, and can honestly say, the thing is a fecking killing machine...rat, rabbit, hare, fox (although, imo, she is too small to ever make a good foxing bitch) roe, muntjac, feather...all have fallen to this tiny little thing...single handed i might add, day and night (BEFORE the ban of course!) Funny you should mention the Aussies liking the .17 Kiwi...They 'aint rated to highly over here.. Just yesterday night, i shot four Jack Rabbits with the .17HMR...all four of them where runners...and all where shot in the heart lung area...its a real tac driver though...just seems to me, imo, it has zero to nothing knock down power...a few lads have shots yotes with them over here...even neck shots...and they have had them run a couple of hundred yards...they find them with just dirty great holes in the neck, but only about a 1/8 on an inch deep!!!...some guys like them for Bobcats though, wh

Hi Guys,.. Been doing a lot of shotgun work lately...we have killed 50 odd jack rabbits this week alone... Ive been feeding them to the dogs, and they of course look REALY well on this flesh diet...plus they love it! I was wondering last night on the way home from Lamping, will the lead shot cause any harm to the dogs if eaten!?...i remove as much as i can, and any that are hit to bad, i leave for Mr. Wily.. I never had any ill effects when feeding my ferrets on shot gunned rabbits...i did notice that it passed clean through them, coz when i cleaned them out, i could here the shot fallin

Been doing a little Varminting over here, and i have used a fair few different calibres.. .22-250...Noisy, and has a bit of a kick...accurate though..ammo can cost a bit. .204...I like it...shots like a lazer been..i have found it lacking in "Kill" power..had lots of wounded game with it...even good heart/lung shots. .223...cheap ammo, not alot of noise, and accurate...i shot a Yote at 313 yards with one...i would have this calibre over any other for predators over here. .222...REAL nice and accurate...can leave a lot of pelt damage though. .220 Swift...mt LEAST favourite round...LOUD and

We went out lamping for Jack Rabbits last night, couldnt take the dogs, to hot,... I was using a Remington 870, NO choke, and size Five shot...there was a few about and we ended up getting 10...after a few shots, i noticed that the shots started to feel lighter on the shoulder...i checked the empty cartidges on the truck bed, and there was a few size Five shot...but the rest where 8 1/2's!!!...i dropped two Jack Rabbits (Hares) at around 50-55 yards with an open barrel and a shot size i would use on Quail or Dove!..it just goes to show if your a fair shot (im NOT a great shot, but due to the
