So how do you go about it mate?..Do you hide some where near buy and wait?..or do you just creep up to it?...how long (roughly) before they start to feed on it good and proper?...can you take more than one charlie of it in a session, or does it stur things up a little to much? cheers mate Kye..

Nice going mate!...we will have to have a go on them Praire Dogs before we migrate eastward!..lol... Kye,..

Your right there mate, people do use dogs to "toll" the coyotes within range, and i have seen videos of people getting them to within 15 yards or so! It sure would be a sight to see wouldnt it!? Another method, which can be succesful, is to start a "Midden"...you get fallen stock from farms etc, andleave it out in a big field or somewhere the dogs could get a good chance of a catch. Then, once the Coyotes are used to feeding there, you can sometimes ambush them at the feeding place. I know you get the odd chance when just out mooching. Im sure once i move to a better location the Border Collie

I agree totaly!...Obviously Bricca is NOT the right size for anything!.. :11: Kye,..

Thanks for the replys guys... I dont think many dogs could hunt the terrain localy to me at the moment. It is the worst i have ever seen. One thing that often comes up when talking to guys over here about Coyote killing dogs, is the weight of a dog. Although my Staghounds are a decent size (bewteen 28" and 30", but i think the bitch has lots more to grow, and think she could reach a huge height) they are not as heavy as you would think...Plus they have the best feet i have seen. Im not trying to big these dogs up or anything, but when i get some pics of there feet, you would think they would

Royston, a good size Yote in my area is about 30-40lbs...although up north and in the Mid-west they can get very big...up to 60lbs+!!! Admin, there are dogs out here that have been bred for years to deal with Yotes and even wolfs. I think the two i own now will make handy big game killers (Fingers crossed anyway!..lol.) I was just wondering about dogs in general, all over the world. The guy i got my stock from has a few dogs (male and female) that do Yote single handed. To my knowledge, they dont have bull blood, but i could be wrong. I was just interested in what others thaught. Kane, i kn

The prey is Coyote...Nice pic Lucky. With Coyotes, just imagine a animal slightly slower than a hare, but the same size (some times bigger) than a Collie. And yeah, they can fight a bit too!..lol. Kye..

I know there are plenty of lads out there (before the ban of course!) who tested there dogs on hard quarry, buy that i mean quarry that can fight back. I know first cross Bull Greyhounds are hard and so on and so forth. But can you get a dog that is still hard enough to do a hard night/day of taking toothed critters, but still able to be fast enough for quarry that is fast like the hare etc? Theres no doubt that the Bull cross are game, but can they be game enough, yet still be fast enough for fast prey?...If so what cross, or percentage of cross would you say would fit the bill best, and why?

Good read there!,.. These two Staghounds i have here are like chalk and cheese. The male (Blister) has the perfect temperament imo...Not shy, or aggresive towards anyone, he just likes to be with me. He has a very calm laid back attitude, he carrys back game and stuff VERY well now, and is calm when i let him in the house. The bitch (Tor) is VERY different!..lol..She reminds me of a pit-bull pup. Not aggresive in anyway, but she is like a spinning top, never still, until she has had a good run about and picked up a few chairs and buckets from outside. She has a real giggly chracter, and lo

Done a fair bit, but my mates do a lot of it!...I only got hares and rabbits and stuff, but have friends who have killed deer, pigs and Javalina...its VERY sporting, and far better than hunting with a gun, imo...each to there own though...i had a Hoyt Cam and a half...very nice bow...towards the end, i could hit fist size groups with 15 arrows out to about 30 yards...but it was real good at about the 25 yard range...it was fun just hunting cottontail and jack rabbits. Kye..

lol..yeah, she 'aint that bad!...she will be given a fair crack of the whip, just the things we where told, 'aint quite true!..lol..we will have a chat about her when we speak next, its nothing to bad though...i wont be digging any holes just yet!..lol. Kye..

I wonder who knows more about terriers?..Lads whos familys have been digging for generations...OR...an american who has been digging three or four years, and has most of his knowledge from Books? As far as size goes...i think it depends on the breed/type as well....you could have two dogs, both 11" and both 13lbs...Ones a Russell type, the other a Balck dog type.. It seems with dogs like that, the Russell, is well aware that he is small, and after he gets through his youthful enthusiasm, and has his ass kicked a few times, will settle down and stand back and bay. But the black dog, he DO

The Reservation (Rez) is a great place. Its only three hours drive from mine, and it has a HUGE varity of game, and small game animals. You never know what you may see. Elk, mule deer, coyote, turkeys, javalina...alsorts! It wasnt to bad when we arrived, so we headed up higher into the mountains, bordering the Grand Canyon. Snow had been predicted, but thas was supposed to be a week away, and we where only ment to be there for five days. So, myself, Ernest (or "Big Injun" as Stabs called him..lol.) and our mate Paul chose a nice area in a load of tall pine...Hopefully the pines would stop

Needless to say that my "Show" bred terrier has been ok...but she has NO WAY near been tested...she will be two this june/july... I have luckily spoken to some REAL terrier men about maybe getting future terriers from back home, and they have been kind enough to not forget about me when theres a decent litter about...Would i want a terrier now?...FORGET IT!...whats the point in having a terrier if you cant test it....but we are moving to Missouri in the near future, so i will be wanting a few more terriers...but i will be able to test them then, so it wont be a problem...all the best to thos

Yeah, i just asked the wife about it...she said it involves a shot, then blood testing, then a few more shots or summat...said the total is about $120 (Sixty quid!!!) maybe it more exspensive coz they have to get the rabies vac from another country?...i have thought about getting a few of my staghounds a pet-pass-port...i might be getting a once in a lifetime chance to hunt them in Africa in the future! Kye...
-
I was just wondering, coz i have a bitch here in the States, who was sired buy that dog. Kye..
