  1. Yeah, the ground there is terrible, but theres LOADS of game in that area!...feet are a MUST with that terrain!... The dog is a Staghound...that was about 5;30 in the morning,...great plase to hunt when we have had rain...we havent had any for the last 6 months though... Kye,..
  2. Same type Mackem...there a real dog if you know what i mean mate?.. All the best guys.. Kye..
  3. VERY roughly speaking, they are a mix of wolfhound, deerhound, borzoi, and greyhound...but they have been breeding fairly true for 100+ years....just any sighthound brought over buy the Pioneers, that killed coyotes...there feet are AMAZING!...My male is the fastest dog i have ever seen...other than a greyhound...the fastest dog i had seen before that was Darcys Scooby.. They can move i can tell thee!..lol.. Kye,..
  4. In the summer you hunt Ground Hogs with the terriers...winter you can hunt most stuff, coz things like fox and coon go to ground...coyotes, you need to try and kill when you can!...lol. How would a Stag do back home...real good, imo...they are big, but they turn very well for big dogs...my male (Blister) is a great lamp dog and he is 29"...picks rabbits up like a whippet would.. They are plenty game...they took a 60lb feral dog not long ago...buy accident though...i would never stray to far away from the type over here, although i might add a little summat along the line to " tailor" them
  5. No Royst, non of them mate, sorry... Will try and get some footage of them doing bolted Coons, and Coyotes and stuff later this year mate...should be good!.. Kye,..
  6. http://easylink.playstream.com/caninetrain...ing/blister.wvx For the Hare lads!...

  8. Royston...f**k off!..lmao.. Hi Macker... Yes mate, if it was on Terrier Central, they was my dogs,...thanks for the kind comments of them...they 'aint let me down yet!...should do the job when i get to MO!.. All the best lads! Kye..
  9. Well yeah, thats a fair point mate!..lol. Kye,..
  10. Although i agree with what most of you have said, i would say this,...when i mate is in a fight, or your team is not winning, do you stop cheering them on and supporting them...or do you carry on the support. I agree that we have had the blunt end though guys, but better some resistance, however slight, than none, surly?.. Kye,..
  11. Thanks 5Dogs...i will be getting on even better when im killing 1000+ head of game each year with me terriers and feck nows how much stuff with the Staghounds!... ....there are lads doing 800+ just in the winter, and just on Raccoon...and i dont think there as nuts for it as me and me digging buddy!..lol. Im struggling for terriers at the moment...i got the Lakeland bitch (that got the Bobcat a few days ago) and i got a white dog that is just my cuppa tea....hes only seen one Raccoon, but i was more than happy with him on that... but as you well know mate, one dig 'aint feck all!...and then
  12. Yeah, your right guys!...there are genuine lads, AND pricks in the game the world over..nothing new there i guess. It sure is humbling as you said Waz,.. All the best guys,.. Kye,..
  13. This is just a little thank you, to lads that have helped in the past, and the lads that are helping out at the moment!... There are lads back home, that are helping me out with terriers/terrier pups, for that i am VERY grateful...it will be nice to have a kennel full of good, honest dogs, bred from good tested gear...some of whom i have NOT even met, only spoken to via this, and other sites of old!...you guys are welcome to a holiday, and some American hunting with sighthounds and terriers...you will always be welcome at my house... And a HUGE thanks to two Americans, one my digging par
  14. I think theres some dodgy guy on here named "Stabs"...lol. He gets out and takes the odd mixy rabbits, and mole with his dogs...doubled up no doubt though!... He might be able to help you out mate...i never seen his male work, but his bitch is a machine in the field. Kye,..
  15. Yeah guys, your right, it could have been FAR worse!... I was just lucky, that all mate...and so was the Bitch,..i guess the Bobcat shit out that day though!..lol. Hey Waz, i can hardly speak fecking english let alone Spanish!..lol. I think she is about 2 1/2 years old now mate...she killed a mink at just over 5 months...but she had killed plenty of rats before that mate... A Digi-Camera is the FIRST thing on the list when i get to Missouri!...me and me digging partner will have some mint pictures for you boys, trust me!... All the best guys.. Kye,..
  16. I dont know what a harder dog would have done mate?... Maybe it would take more or maybe because it would be more comited, it would take less?.. All i know is that Bricca has a weird shaped nose, and is minus a fair bit of muzzle at the moment!...she has cleaned up nice though...them claws are HORRIBLE though!...when i say right to the bone, i mean it!...Ouch!... We will se in the future what a harder type will do Taffy!... The guys said that it was roughly 20 odd pounds...when i seen it running, i would have said about that, so it would be good to see what a 40-50lb one would be like!.
  17. Having been working alot recently, and not getting the dogs out as much as possible (end of season for us here anyway realy) i decided to have a quick spin out with the three Staghounds, the Lakeland (Bricca) and one of the wifes White bitches.. Got out the truck, and had the two Stag bitches on leash, the Male (Blister) hunting loose with the two terriers... All of a sudden, Blister is off at full pelt, eating up the ground....i look ahead of him, and instead of seeing a hare or rabbit, its a bloody Bobcat!...im guessing it was out sunning itself, as its only the third one i have seen in
  18. To true Haggler... I havent a terrier worth feeding at the momet, but at the present i live in an area where there is no point in having one...no need to have a kennel full of dogs if you cant work them how they need/should be worked imo... but thanks to some real good lads, that will be changing shortly...plus i will be living in an area where i can test a dog how it should be tested, which will be nice...As for things moving up pipes when you break through, that can happen in ANY country, where a dog goes to ground and faces quarry...nothing to do with the country its in, its the dog down
  19. Good do Haggler.. I thought that Kobe was dug to, and lost his grip on a coon, and it went up the pipe six foot,so you let the Finn dog in to have a look... Finn looks a good size... Kye,..
  20. I thought it was Kobe that done the work, then you let Finn have a look!?... Good pics.. Kye,..
  21. Hi Pete.. Good do mate.. Just to let you know, i havent forgotten about that stuff you asked me about...we are having a HORRIBLE job with the company, and they are messing us about no end...i ordered one as well, so as soon as they get here mate, i will send it...sorry for the delay, but there 'aint much i can do about it!...
  22. I have a half Middleton bitch... She is the most obdient, stock steady, trustworthy terrier i have ever had...great nose...for some strange reason, she has an incredable abilty to work in weather exstremes...me and a mate had her in a pipe in MO, working a GH...it was so hot, it was the only dog we would have put in there...five minutes after she finished working, she was ready to go again... She is not what i would want in a earth dog though...one of the sofest terriers i have seen...although she throws her voice VERY well...we will see what she does when i move and she can be dug to thre
  23. The Beddie looks well happy with herself...the fox looks a bit pissed though...lol. Keep up the good work mate...looks a great little bitch!.. Kye,..
  24. Well, that is a VERY good, truthfull post...yet, still a very sad one...good stamp of dog buy the look of it!...if only looks could kill eh!?.. It happens in all types/breeds though, and at least your still improving a breed that has sadly diminished...i would still have a good, hard, working Beddie...maybe when i get to MO i will have to look into it in more depth?.. All the best for your future hunting, and breeding SJ!.. Kye,..
  25. Well done Royst... Its always good to look back on your game diarys, and remember the good ole days eh!... Shame its just the rabbits and rats know eh... Kye,..
