Thats good to know fish. Ive always had them "hatch" and leave in the summer, this is first time they havent grown. Like malt says, must be something to do with thw warmth - or lack of it.

I think you need to work out why your wanting a redtail. Are you changing quarry to squirrels? Or are you just wanting to challenge yourself? If your changing quarry to squirrel then reds are great but the right harris can be just as deadly. If your just wanting a change then you might want to think twice, reds in this country are nothing like the ones in america. Yes, there are some good birds and many red flyers swear by them, but for every one that swears by them there are 3 that swear at them.

Ive still got some tadpoles in my pond. Proper tadpoles too, no legs or tail ! They are sure to die first time the pond freezes, any ideas why? they just havent seemed to have matured and werent laid late either, we had one lot of frogspawn but that was spring/summer.

Penny buns are easy to identify, so is chicken of the woods. Both great to eat!

Im going to make some sloe gin and sloe vodka with sloes (obviously) but with ....... yew tree berries too!!! I know the seed is fatally poisonous but the berry flesh is fine, i really like the taste, so i reckon im going to give it a go. My main concern is whether to actually drop the berries in with the sloes, or just to get a good handful and squeeze out the juice and pour that in with the gin, sloes and sugar. In theory i think im favouring the first option but my worry is if i get drunk and pour a seed in to the glass which is why i will probably go for the second choice. Watch this s

YOu dont HAVE to sieve it through muslin. The majority of mine gets drunk when friends are round and we are drunk, and we usually just pour straight from the bottle and try to avoid sloes falling out. -
Great fight! I think brock has great attacking ability but he doesnt like it when the shoe is on the other foot. Once he starts getting hit he just curls up. Fair play to cain, he had a plan and he stuck to it. I reckon gonzaga will get cut from the ufc now, he has lost his edge. Shields was lucky, kampman would have won if he kept the fight standing. Why the feck does he try to beat people at their own game?? He tried it with daley and got owned and tried it saturday with shields- he needs to think a bit more.

If i had one tip it would be not to put too much sugar in. John b (fourteen acre) on here is a dab hand at sloe gin - he helped me a lot a couple of years ago. If you have any specific questions you could ask him, i did!

Everyone will say something different. I managed to leave a batch for 18months - That was a sloe gin, bramble gin and bramble whisky but it was too long. I think 3 months is ideal personally, but i just made 3 bottles last week and very much doubt whether they will last past christmas.

Either what bullterrier says and do some raised beds or it may well take you a few seasons to get the soil something like if its as bad as you say. Poor soil will limit what you can grow, but there will be things that will suit it, but the choice will be limited.

I do a basic sloe gin with 4oz sugar, 4oz sloes and cheap supermarket gin. Maturing times vary for me as i have an annoying tendency to drink it much too soon!

What a weekend me and my mates had! Went down to london on friday and had a scream! Ive been a few times to the ufc now but this one was just brilliant. Friday we started drinking at 1 in the afternoon and didnt stop till 3 in the morning, i was well rough for saturday but had to carry on. Went to the fan expo and that was good but we decided to go to the 02 dome early for a good look round. We gets to the dome at 4 and out of the 20,000 or so people there, they picked us for VIP passes!! so heres me and my mates in a posh executive box with our own bar etc and in walks ryan bader and john

Who were you sparring with wetdogsmell? Ye, im thinking the same as you lot too. I put my bets on last week. Hardy to win and sexyama to win. Not very patriotic of me but i rate sexyama highly, and he had a great fight against leben- if it wasnt for the fact he has a head like a pumpkin , sexy would have won it. Im not mad keen on bisping , he is a bit of a gobshite- i know they all are but bisping just grates on me. Your probably better off going to a car forum. I would guess the car buffs will know everything about that sort of situation, on here you will only get guessing i bet.

They will if no body does it. Farmers are just starting to realise that moleing is going to cost them, strychnine is finished, trapping is the future and it costs. Get charging!
