  1. Appaarently our mate Chris packham did a crowdfund type thing to initiate it and its worked.
  2. Its a fact. My dad was in the miners strikes so we grew up hating her but she was probably the strongest prime minister we have ever had and we wouldnt still be fannying on if she was in charge.
  3. yes matey. Spring i stop trapping on farmland. The grass is growing, the moles are mating, the ground can become too hard in the spring/summer months. November - March is mole season for me.
  4. Cheers lads. thats it, all traps on farmland are up, bring on spring.
  5. Pic with barn in background ended up at 119 and the next pic the tally was just shy of 100 i think. Ive a couple more pics somewhere im gonna dig out
  6. Well I'll be pulling up my remaining traps at a farm this weekend and thats it, mole season is over for me. Been a decent year, got some good numbers and met some nice people. Heres a few pics. A lot of places dont want gibbets now, they are a bit victorian and i think this may be the last year i do them. Top pic ended up 130 moles, lower pic ended up 300+, i lost count after he took the gibbet down when it reached 200
  7. Weather is mad isnt it. Ive seen butterflies, bees, even birds are starting to nest......and its february!! As above, a cold snap and it will kill all the insects
  8. I cant fault them mate. Easily the best traps ive ever used.
  9. I trap a hell of a lot and have tried most mole traps. The two that stand out for me for being cruel (both duffus btw) are pest-stop and big cheese. I bought some big cheese about 10/15 years ago and i binned the lot (if i remember correctly), they didnt even kill the mole with a nice chest trigger. And i bought some pest-stop 2 years ago (i think), the number of foul catches was shocking, I caught loads by a paddle, its a shame they are so cheap and still on ebay, there will be moles getting caught badly the length of the country, they really need to change the design at the factory. Fla
  10. Im really not sure. I was at a woodworm job the other day and there was a big queen very groggily crawling along the drive. i put her somewhere safe and i hope she survives but this warm weather is causing havoc, i saw 2 birds today with twigs for making nests ffs. Insects are out and about but a cold snap and it will kill the lot.
  11. Ye myersberg, i have a comb type thing. So you dont think it will kill a squirrel at 6 inch? Im really not sure here. I would have thought it would kill it at a matter of inches. Im going to need to trap one and try it, just not in a customers garden
  12. Never thought of it like that, cheers. Just didnt want to get to a garden to kill a squirrel and it takes three shots. TBH i wouldnt have bought it had i known it was only 3.5ft/lb but ive just shot into my fence and the pellet stuck in, so a rat or squirrel inches away should be fine........i think. haha
  13. I just bought a Wembley tempest for squirrel dispatch. I wanted a Springer and not gas cartridge but just realised it's 3.5ft/lb after purchase. Anyone used one for squirrel and rat dispatch?? Will be shooting them at a range of 6 inch so not that interested in power just need it to do the job. Thoughts?
  14. I cant stand em either. Bought 30 putang and chucked the feckin lot first week.
  15. Unless im reading this wrong, no mate, absolutely not. I got me an accountant, best thing i ever did. I went round the local high streets and they charge a feckin fortune, but i found my fella on google. He charges so little its great and he sorts out everything, id be lost without him. Cant recommend getting one enough
  16. I read that somewhere too and can well beieve it
  17. While i think on, has anyone noticed any unusual amounts of fleas on their moles this year? i pulled one fella out yesterday that was covered, literally covered, i probably did him a favour killing him, wish id taken a photo. Not sure if it was a one off or not but after that i was looking and did see what i think was higher than normal flea numbers. Ive been doing bedbugs and mice today so havent been moling but back at it tomorrow so gonna take some photos if i find any.
  18. Id say we get above average for rain here, but i dont know for certain. I know i do rodent control on farms and i was catching more moles than rats for two months this summer, as they were coming up onto the surface looking for food/water?? and getting caught in the snap traps, something i personally havent known before.
  19. Getting solid numbers here but definately down on last few years. This is 30+ from this morning. Higher ground has far fewer moles than usual.
  20. Been using non-tox outside for last couple of years and swapping over to contrac blox upon activity. No issues for me at all with rats. Massive issues with long term baiting indoors for mice though. Ive a couple of spots that are totally indoors so have historically had solo blox down full time (brodifacoum) and it sorts out any mice problems straight away. Ive now had to swap over to difenocoum which is dogsh*t for mice but better then brom so needs must. Whoever decided we can only use difenocoum or bromadiolone long term needs to wake the f*ck up.
