    Ummm where in that did I say he was a one off ? Or anything about my old dog ? I’m just asking if anyone has a dog that fits the above description I can use to line a bitch in the future ? I don’t move in whippet circles and so I don’t see many working whippets and certainly don’t see any working regular (not that they don’t I just don’t know anyone with one). I am just saying I’m after a well put together whippet, height isn’t over important but I want it relatively thick set and the type who will pile straight into a fox without a second thought and which you’d happily slip on

    Does anyone on here have a whippet that’s well built, well mannered but thinks it’s a 28” bull x / Bengal tiger ? Preferably Laguna type breeding. Little bit bully not an issue.

    Funnily enough it was a lad with Lurchers and terriers who phoned them and reported me. We have some crackers in our sport. One day, no doubt, his house will burn down with him in it ?

    I am well aware of the lack of powers held by the rspca. It’s the police that are more of a concern. However it as much as the rspca etc can’t do much without the police, the police are usually prone to siding with them and letting you sort it out later, and getting your dog back off the rspca isn’t that easy or fun. Yer they can’t do much to you the rspca but they can do even less if they don’t know what you’re at and don’t know your exist. I find being a loud mouth (not referring to you mate) about what we do is just daft. Who wants the hassle of having to card marked ? R

    You’re ok unless you create enough reasonable suspicion for a warrant to be issued. No matter how clean and careful you are, if you do a fair bit with your running dogs, they will find something to cause you grief.

    You never had them at your door ? Count yourself lucky. I’ve had one experience of the rspca, police etc turning up at my yard. Obviously it was all due to false accusations and all went away. But I’ve got to admit it was one of the most stressful experiences or my life. And from the sounds of it your dogs catch 1 million times more than mine and you’re fat fr far louder than me...... so I’m quite surprised if you never have a visit.........

    I was there one day and to be fair the way that thing acts, a lot of dogs just don’t even see it as quarry. I’ve got to go and shoot a few of those with a tranq dart during the rut, which is something I’m really looking forward to.
