  1. I reckon I could squeeze 200 store cattle in there with 1200 ewes
  2. Everyone has to be good at something, sadly I ended up pulling the sheep straw ? (beef cattle to)
  3. Not necessarily moving, but looking at 500 acres I’m very keen on down there. Most likely stick a caravan / cabin in the yard and get someone based there and stay living here...... but you never know, if it was good for the dogs I’d consider moving and letting the lad run things here.
  4. Nothing wrong with a gang bang, as long as it’s high women to men ratio. Can’t be doing with any sword fighting. And yer, why do you think I have 12 Dogs mate, just open the boot and Chuck the lot out. Actually I’m making a side car mounted Lurcherpult, razzing about the stubbles firing Lurcher at shit like a x between mclovin and mad max
  5. Not one clue what you just said so I will just nod and smile ? I haven’t got enough friends to slip another one in ?
  6. Anyone from anywhere near there ? Currently looking at another farm there. Just wondering what it would be like for the dogs? Much about game wise ? Ground looks spot on.
  7. No idea mate I’ve just drunk a bottle of wine, you’re best off asking the paint blend guy from bnq he knows his shit.
  8. Saluki Lurchers can carry brindle gene from grey ?
  9. If you’re not worried about what you’re carrying, a Kelly kettle is a cool bit of kit
  10. Some of you lads must be taking a wheel barrow with you, or not venture far from the truck ? Personally I like a little cycling one man tent, tiny, light weight and warm. Usually take two lightweight plastic sheets to, one for above and one below, that way your kit outside the tent also stays dry etc.
  11. Dog and a bitch each. Sire was killed before the litter dropped, and the dam was retired last season after a smash, so chances of a repeat mating are ...... well it ain’t gonna happen ? Both lads do enough lamping, daytime and digging, to warrant two.
  12. I agree with C. green here ....... a lot of the well bred litters are usually long planned and long awaited, and there are never enough pups. I got a bull x bitch pup off a mate, seven pups in the litter, owner of the dam kept two, owner of the sire kept two, me and another close mate of the dams owner had one, and best mate of the sires owner had one. That’s mostly how it happens. And in theory none of those lads will need another pup for five years, and hopefully the best of those pups will be bred and everyone will have new pups to run. Everyone gave something for the pups, but not money, I
  13. I seem to have got lucky with pups ages. Generally pups come in the summer so are a decent age at the start of their first season. The one I’m starting this season will be about 14/15 months come September and the young one above will be about 16 months next September, perfect ages to start on bigger stuff. Sure a lot of folk will have them working younger and mine usually mug a few bits before but it’s nice to start lamping with them and be able to slip on anything you see.
  14. Ps the pup is 10 weeks, if she rolls a fox of any size I’d be quite surprised ?
  15. No.... I meant it’s a time for us to rear pups and them to rear Cubs. There are few nicer sights than the young of any species enjoying the sun and messing about.
  16. Summer is a time for Cubs and pups.
  17. To be fair we don’t have a lot of grass land here, and we are probably a lot drier. But last couple words the ground has been like bell metal with massive cracks in it. Combine that with a hare or two and you got no toes ?
  18. Last couple of seasons, you slip a fast dog down here in august / September, they ain’t gonna be running much for a while after that ........
  19. Half beagle mate, so a bit of could have gone either way etc.
  20. Just curious if you’ve got a bit of line breeding potential. He seems a cracking dog, half brother / sister etc be tidy, etc
