‘Pretenders’ ? There is little sadder than a man who spends his life ‘exposing pretenders’ on an Internet forum, like some weird vigilante, who thinks anyone cares. “Everyone on here is an idiot but I need to convince them I am right and bestest, so I’m going to spend 6-8 hours a day banging my drum at them, then maybe they will tell me I’m bestest and I will feel warm inside” . What I actually said was “it’s been years since I’ve seen a Beddy x which could hold a candle to a good bull x”. Which translates to, no one I know or have bumped into runs a Beddy x grey for foxes. I would imagine that either has something to do with the lack of good working / consistent beddys, or because of something to do with bull xs ability. I don’t know, you’ll have to ask the Beddy x brigade. In fact, why don’t you start a thread, “Vermin dogs, non edible quarry, what’s in yours?” I wonder how many Beddy x greys you will find? ? aye I’d imagine two Beddy xs could probably handle a half grown fox. I didn’t say they couldn’t. What I said was ....... when folk knock patterdale x whippets etc, I don’t understand it, when so many keep Beddy x whippets (1st x), bred out of non working (or rarely working) Beddy terriers, when there is a large range of well worked other terriers to choose from to breed a small terrier x whippet thing. But in all honesty, it has been many many years since I saw a Beddy x that could hold a candle to a good bull x. Hence why you don’t see many Beddy x greys any more being used f

Actually I think if you go back I said no one is doing 5 fox a night 3 night a week through the season. In fact I think it was me that pointed out, that would be 360 foxes over a six month winter with one dog, which I’ve never heard of with any cross. Or any quarry other than rabbits. So if you’re gonna slag folk off, try to get your facts / memory correct please.

I don’t have the hand eye co-ordination or the patience to take more than one dog out on the lamp. Never have, never will.

What’s quite funny is I don’t think anyone has gone on about bull x other than gospel? I don’t remember any threads with folk saying how amazing they are? Just Gospel saying how crap they are on every thread. He’s saving all of the youth, by preaching the gospel of truth. Very f*cking odd behaviour, must have been bitten by a bull x as a kid.

Sometimes I think I’m a bit over dogged ? but the Mrs is a star for running them, and I will never put myself in the position of having nothing to run again. It’s so easy to start the season with a full team and quickly have dogs in sick bay or worse.

Everything and anything I can. End up doing a lot of lamping so have to work in the day, but try for at least a day or two (not full days) in the winter out doing some proper bushing. And lamp as much as I can. Enjoy a bit of digging also.
