I sort of agree but freaks are obviously one offs and not much use in trying to breed them thinking they will duplicate themselves. Some of the best dogs were out of nothingy bitches but they had good lines behind them. You couldn't take pride in owning a freak that you bred, you were just lucky.

Sub standard compared to what? So you would cull every dog that didn't beat Going Light Barney in his day. Thank the lord you don't train human boxers, lol. Not every dog is a grand champion and we all have our bad days when we are not 100%.

I only know him from on here with his great knowledge and experience of hunting dogs and his gentleman like poetic writings. A great loss to his family, all dogmen and the whole world. I always looked up to him as a great ambassador and voice for serious hunters. I'm truly gutted with this sad news. R.I.P Phil.

Sorry about your dog mate. R.I.P Sam.

I kept APBT's for over 30 years and I wouldn't leave my kids alone with them, same with any powerful breed, that's neglect. They were around my kids but I'm very watchful and aware of a dog's mood and acted on this when needed. I also taught my kids to respect all animals at all times.
-
I think it's a good thing. Most people don't have the experience or knowledge to keep these dogs and it's the dogs that suffer most. I agree they have great temperaments when treated correctly and I raised my kids around them in the house. They are too much as hunting dogs on dangerous animals imo, just too game and that leads to too many injuries. The English bull is far more popular over here for hunting crosses, enough balls for the job without being over the top. Best thing that happened to the breed for it's sake is it's decline in popularity.

I had a few big type hobs I'd use when doing pest control. They'd either push the stubborn rabbits out after the jills went through or kill underground. For sport with the dogs I just used the jills. I agree both types are useful and needed.

The Black Domina genetics I got over here was Northern Lights, Hash plant, Afghani and Ortega, don't know if it's the original but I'm sure it didn't have White Widow in it because I had that going years ago and it was not narcotic like the BD.
-
I was going to try G13 but decided on Black Domina and it's been a good thing for the past three years. I really like the pure or mostly indicas as it's only night time these days. Sativas make me too paranoid and sleepless.
-
What is a really good heavy indica strain these days mackem? Asking for a friend, lol. I've only tried the old school indicas and wondering if they have improved on them, cheers mate.

Iww, have you ever actually ever smoked or tried weed edibles before.? It's quite a harmless and peaceful way of relaxing and for pain relief. As far as I know it's never directly killed anyone and more than 200 000 000 people smoke it worldwide.
-
True, I'm like that already, lol.
-
Some people still have a sense of humor in their 80's mate. Also I have a feeling iww was bagging rabbits when you were still in your dad's bag, lol.
-
Yeah the not returning was a dead giveaway, lol.

I had a one eyed albino hob named Magoo, a huge ferret and evil, hand raised with his litter mates who were all good natured. He constantly attacked the dogs around warrens so I decided he needed to go but he escaped and was attacking the lady at the local shop's chickens. She tried to kill him with a shovel but he managed to get up the handle and ripped her wrist badly requiring many stitches. He ended up escaping her and as far as I know is still lurking out there somewhere, lol.

One of the best used over here for really thick blackberry are whippet/ russells. Any big running dogs are useless for this work. I talked to a hunter many years ago in far North Queensland who reckoned the original Bull Arab pig dogs here were bull terrier/pointer and saluki and his dogs were the original so maybe the sandies do add something for bigger game in extreme heat. I remember the dogs, they were very large and unfortunately still had some feathering, lol. This was before the Bull Arab became mainstream and is generally bull terrier/grey/pointer now with some dane and mastiff added i

Fck living in Africa.
-
I just laugh at your ignorance but your feathery fantasies are hilarious, lol.
-
Yeah that's why we use salukis over here to get boars out of blackberry, lol. Why do you feel threatened about different types of dogs being better at certain jobs than yours? You need help mate.

If it is a dog bred from hunting parents and ancestors the prey drive might come from that, not so much the cross.

Came to feed ferrets and half of them dead!
Aussie Whip replied to Daleside pest control's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
If it's very bad the dogs will just throw it up but they can generally handle off meat, unlike ferrets. I had a pitbull/mastiff who would get out and eat rotten roadkills, he never got sick and lived until 18. -
All our animals talk over here, lol.

Same here, almost worth having a heart attack for.
