It’s my last roll of the dice mate if my plans come together I should be sitting on easy street enjoying the life I,ve longed for within the next 6 months my body is falling to bits but 6 more months of graft and it will all be worth, it we have to have a dream otherwise, what’s the point of it all

Feck me mate most jap stuff ain’t even run in at 100k I,d expect 200 without a service I no people with land cruisers on 500/750 k on the clock and still better than most new gear, just drill a few holes along the chassis and pour your old engine oil inside as the japs ain’t very clever on the old rust protection and it will go on for years

As a little aside from how good they are and how much it’s worth another consideration is how much longer old diesels will be tolerated on the roads, already band in London and many other councils are trying to follow suite and as it raises money from motorists it will be spreading rapidly over the next year or two

Had my current one 5/6 years, changed tyres, wheel bearings brakes and clutch in that time all normal wear and tear, touching wood as I right this but been a good reliable wagon decent mpg and never let me down once but as I said won’t be touching another transit after this one, as they are no longer the cheap reliable old workhorse they were, would give an older sprinter a go if not the Iveco personally

I,ve owned every transit from a mk1 am now on a mk6 and it’s the last one I will ever own, the new transits are powered by shite french over complicated power plants ok when new and running fine but doubt you will ever see one with 200 k on the clock best transit ever was the smiley face banana manifold model, everyone I know now use iveco s especially the 3 litre 7ton one with a hijab and roll off beds change the taxation class to 3ton and away you go ??

One of my kids is a teacher and one a dental nurse two of the worse professions for picking up other people’s germs, I take a spoonful of honey every day and eat several portions of fruit and veg, I can’t remember the last cold I had, it’s no point trying things when your already going down you need to reinforce your natural immunity by taking these things year round, I buy my honey from local bee keepers or the supermarket in winter when the locals are out and have never been stung acquiring it this way, also try eating plenty of fruit and veg as vitamin C is your friend and pot noodles or m

Like I said mate we all set our own moral compass and if you can sleep at night then it obviously works for you, I’ve led far from a righteous life myself and have many regrets so cannot really sit in judgement, that’s just my own set of rules,

I made this some time back was told I would die and burn down my shed etc but here he is a Year or two on still providing free heat, having a man cave is about making good and making do, not going to Band Q for a plug in electric sapping heater, an old gas bottle an Ali road sign and a couple of combi boiler flues stuck together as a chimney, all picked up from skips, total cost probably about a fiver

Bad ,To opinionated and carry a grudge though I’m getting better with age, good will help everyone and anyone to the detriment of my own time and give my last penny to the kids even if it leaves me on my arse, but all in all I’m pretty happy with my lot
