    a dogs coat will make no difference to hpw well it works. rough coated will feel the heat more and rough will hide a multitude or sins.sometimes thats good others it could be bad.i used to find massive scabs underneath my deerhounds coat,that whilst it was fine mostly i thought a few could of done with a stitch.just never knew they were there. smooth,my sal/bull/grey is smooth and all she's got to do is brush past a twig and she scars.scars black too.easier to treat wounds and when fit looks good. broken coated i'm not sure if you get the best or worse of both worlds above.

    jesus christ.she's huge.i've had litters of 12 and my jill wasn't anywhere near that size.i'd be worried.

    I have walked the bouvier for 11 years and I can count on 1 hand how many people have patted her so they can't be that cute close up lol but I get your point. Think pictures can be deceptive though most bouviers are around 28-30 tts and weigh in at 50+ kg and have a head like a beachball i thought of you and that breed when he 1st opened up the thread because i heard a couple people sing there praises but never knew your name or breed. i noticed the size of his head,if he was short coated he'd look mean.looks wheaten like sort of. i'd like to see some more photo's.

    i'm not doubting the guarding instinct in the 2 breeds above but there not really a deterent.they look quite nice. the gsd type and bull types, everybody knows not to mix with them.in my limited experience with bull mastiffs(my nan had 3 at different times) they were great with family and natural guards.just knowing fred was about put my nan and grandad mind at rest and you just avoided there property if you wasn't invited. personal prefence again.

    Very surprised that you never heard of back breeding as its used with the dedicated breeders Superior dog and bitch are bred a female pup is kept --- breed this female to her father -- keep a female pup then breed her to her father -- and so on always using the original sire . Takes years to produce the desired goal . why didn't you just say line breeding.it'll be alright then.

    I know mate I think I'm just going to end up putting my gum shield on and some gloves n just turn up one of them off you, mrs wouldn't like it but she doesn't like her own shadow What about a collie x shepherd? If you're not in a rush,probably be healthier than a shepherd too. If you want a serious protection dog I'd find a good trainer first and go with their recommendation. you only get all them health problems when you go down the show line of the dogs the shepherd bitch I've got is more to the working side she has good strong back strong legs you can tell the difference mate belie

    i think loads exist,everywhere.it can't only be me and people i know that have caught a ferreted rabbit in the morning,course a hare and mainly roe in the afternoon and catch fox,rabbit,hare lamping all with the same dog.i could still probably do that every day if it was legal now.

    the knacker man is allowed to carry pistols.he's got a 38 special and another.i know this because he keeps them on the passenger seat.anyway he had to put down a pig once so he held it between his knee's and went to shot it.ended up shooting himself in the foot.thats pretty stupid. that blokes in a different league.

    I don't agree that chasing with dogs makes meat tougher and I've eaten a fair bit of both coursed and shot meat in my time. To my mind it's all in the way you cook it and the age and condition of the animal. Steak from the backstraps should be only lightly browned on the outside whereas roasted or stewed cuts need long slow cooking to be tender. and they bleed better after running.less blood = sweeter meat.
