  1. Don't give him that..ferrets are lactose intolerant ...of course it will go straight through them. Hope he pulls through for you fella... I value my little stinkers as equals to my dogs as they are the main providers of sport for them. I don't know anyone who would pay £250 to get one sorted at the vets though But I can assure you,I would if it was one of mine...but I would deffo do my homework 1st and then double check the vet is actually experienced in ferrets and their diseases etc etc. i give mine milky water and it doesn't seem to do them any harm. how can they be lactose
  2. 12.9 kg now.5.5kg weight gain in 4 weeks.
  3. I definitely agree on that mate if you get a knock on the door, having a good record at the vets could be the difference between getting your dog back or not.
  4. Very very rarely il set foot in a vets my uncles been at it 50 odd years and we self treat most stuffthat's what I'm saying. I keep Hounds. My father have lurchers n Patterdales. Very rare we in vets. And theyre well worked hounds and patterdales don't go as fast as a lurcher and not in the dark sometimes either.[/quote I Said we had lurchers aswell. Maybe they're not plop fast enough lol. i never meant, i like your wheaten x but do you lamp with yours or daytime?because following on behind hounds or waiting outside a hole is a much slower pace i'd imagine.i've never done it that way.
  5. yeah sorry haha, what i meant was of all the times i've been to the vets it was there speed that got them into trouble.that and running out the beam through the woods. Touch wood never had a dog banged up in the night in the woods I had one killed in the day but hadn't brought her up from pup I walk and hunt mine through woods at a young age me neither but had to have 1 p.t.s after an injury.she jumped a fallen tree and speared herself on another branch.had plenty of rips but i can deal with them.my head is in my hands when they run out the lamp into the woods and all i can hear is branche
  6. you missed plenty of permission.good innit,i get the same being a slaughterman.vets on site all day and i try to be there best friend.even the ugly one's.

  9. is the brindle the bitch your putting him over.?like him, is he back fit now because last season he was very ill wasn't he.?
  10. i read in the paper that the average dog costs there owner £2000 /year for a pet.i just tried working it out and i get a bag of food that lasts a month £20 and about £250 in the vets a year.i make that about £490 a year.what am i missing.?
  11. what are you going to use her for.?
  12. i would never intentionally feed frozen meat.there's no benefit it's to it.it's just easier for the owner thats all.
  13. nice looking mutt mate, how old now and how tall.?
  14. when you tong them they'd be out for about 40 seconds if you let them come back around but it only takes seconds to hang em and stick them so by the time they would of come round they haven't got any blood left so they never do. got to be dead to soak other wise the vet goes mental about a pig with a stab to the neck swimming around in a tank filled with warer about 70 degrees with a slaughterman trying to drown it to stop it from screaming.they don't like that.
  15. mine can't wait that long.i put a kg of frozen chicken wings out on saturday, went out the room for 2/3 minutes and there was 3 left.last year she had 6 frozen day old's chicks.
  16. we scold pigs in a big hot water tank.if we cut them from ear to ear the dirty water would contaminate the exposed flesh.now we hang them by back leg and push the knife into the bottom of the neck towards the heart, cutting all the main arteries next to the heart.the cut is only the width of the knife.it's a better way to stick but is more dangerous with cattle(kicked with front legs under your chin) the only time i've actually been scared was when i had to kill 6 wild boar all running around a small room with me.they were coming at me and i only had one shot to knock em down with the tongs ot
  17. i'll try and take some later and if you want to put them up,carry on.
  18. I know but surely when you cut the jugular what comes out ain't even half of what's in the animals body ? try heart sticking them.better pressure, more flow.like they do pigs in a slaughterhouse.if you don't know how, look on you tube.
  19. it makes you wonder why someone could have so much hatred to make them attack children the polish bloke at work was saying today that in poland if the government didn't sort if the hooligans would be on the streets straight away.
  20. didn't know that.cheers. you say magpies and crows,i thought they'll be tougher than a pheasant or rabbit.i think i read on here that a goshawk will only take crow's after a couple of seasons if at all. exciting stuff to do anyhow.look forward to seeing some photo's when you can.
  21. any closer to choosing shaddy.?just get a goose.
  22. a couple of people have mentioned chasing black birds,is it really all there capable of.?i was thinking rabbit, pheasant and that sort of stuff.
