  1. Might have something to do with the.. Ring sting zinger thing mark? ? Atb lads
  2. Give it a go lads.. wading chest deep down a dark tree lined river at 2 a.m in the morning with mist on the water..bat's skimming through your hair, tawny's for company along with the barn owl's, otters and deer... nothing like the feeling of freedom with it.. You're senses really come alive..especially your hearing! Must admit i still get a few goosebumps moments. Then when your fly's swinging round and you're lost in the darkness and nocturnal sounds..BANG! All hell's just broke loose!
  3. Aye gets pretty noisey at times mate.. would think people were throwing their dogs in some nights! September.. they entering the river daily/weekly normally from around May time so by September the numbers have amassed and the rivers got good numbers in by then. Not the easiest month to catch i find because allthough the numbers are there, a lot of the fish have been in a while and gone stale and a fresh fish is more likely to take in my opinion. Still catchable like but they make poor eating anyway. August is another tricky month i think with low water and weed without some good downpours
  4. Can't answer that one mate..just a normal jack of all trades and master of none me! Fish for them 4 months of the year on the wear..may/june-sept and blank more than i catch. Autumn time onwards i'm chubbing it. A Few get caught daytime on my stretch accidently by the trout and coarse lads daytime and have even had 2 myself on pinkie retrieving the feeder after a bad cast. Get as many on the spinner daytime when the waters dropping after a spate as i do on a night with the fly...just pure bloody obsession and persistance pays off i think!
  5. Seatrout! A couple of last year's..chest deep in the river with only the bat's and tawny's for company in the darkness. The ultimate buzz for me! Should start seeing some numbers entering the rivers hopefully in the next few weeks..water permitting that is! Apologies for the naff nighttime photies lads, got more on video once i suss it and get a scanner for the oldies..
  6. Hawk eye. That's me lads.. lost the use of my left eye in the seventies. Used to wait until me da went to work and i'd sneek his webley hawk air rifle out. Bad ricochet off a concrete slab backstop got me the name. On a good note i'm a right handed shooter and they they say you lose a sense..you gain a sense! So so true..doctors etc are amazed at the strength of the sight in my right eye and hearing.
  7. Looking for rifle number 2 at the moment..... that's very tempting!
  8. What was the traffic/parking like Phil?
  9. Back garden mark on a flat calm day. Prone and shooting off the pod on 10x mag with the Airmax. Not sure what pull this triggers doing but it's a touch hard for me.. if i dared lighten it a touch I think that would help too. Atb.
  10. Mine loves the express jonjon.. so much i recently bought 10 tins of them. 5fps spread over 2 full mags last time I chrono'd her. (806-811fps) Not had a bad pellet yet in 3 tins.
  11. Roughly 40% damaged skirts with the jsb exacts i bought (almost every other one!) AA Express all the way for me..much better than the AA fields in my 100 and not a single damaged skirt now in 3 tins! Sadly my pellet testing is over now because i honestly think ive found the grub my girl likes (and i tried a few believe me) Thanks for putting me on them on an old post Vman!
  12. Tenner for one of these..only bought it to check the rifle was level before setting the scope up vertical with a plumbline. Kept it on ever since. ( not hurting anything )
  13. Problem i had a while back was shooting out of the kitchen window when it was way to wet to get out. Used to rest the barrel/mod in the corner of the window frame and found poi was 1" high at 28yds. Not what i'd call hold sensitivity but i avoid resting the mod on fence posts and the likes now.
  14. H&N make them specially for weihrauch but with a larger head size. Weihrauch f&t special 4.51 H&N ftt 4.50 Got a tin of each sat here.. exact same pellet.. just a different head size.
  15. Anybody else seen any yet? Last year it was back end of August before i clapped eye's on one. Heavy hailstorm 2 day's back and a car scraping frost this morning..and these beauties pop up in the front garden when the temp hit 14 this afternoon. Maybe planting in four "Buddleja" last spring has helped? Naff mobile photies folk..
  16. Where is Flint Steg? atb River Dee mate.. england/wales border.
  17. My auld bitch..15 year's old this may (riddled with arthritis bless her!) Bullx whippet/grey back to whippet/grey. Got her as pup from a place called Flint. Nice all rounder. Fur feather and loved to swim across rivers. Photies may work and probs be small if do (mobile)
  18. In the garden.... Wasps and bluebottles.. Leave the greenfly for the pro's ☺ Edited to add.. stationary wasps and bluebottles baited up with dog food/or strawberry jam etc.. with a "SAFE BACKSTOP "
  19. Exactly mate...and the chance's are you won't worry about the rest.. because the anxiety has gone! An ex partner of mine and an old mate both had bouts of it 5+ years ago now.. Bump into them occasionally and what totally different people they are now to what they were then.. proper happy laid back people now without a worry in this world. They were on tablets 3-6 months..weren't shotgun or fac holder's though. Atb steg
  20. Trust me.. This one will be worth 10 on the perm.. Neighbours conservatory..other neighbour's a bandit lover and my own greenhouse all getting in the way.. Will try alternative methods first obviously..☺
  21. My 100kt (.177 though) si.. only liked 3 pellets out of the 20+ I tried through her ( cost me a fortune pellet testing ) A few more did one inch groups but i expected much more than that at 34 yards. Settled for the AA express in the end (can put one up the other ones skirt!) Still got the AA fields and RWS superfield to fall back on though. Thought mine was a fussy fecker!?
  22. Happy songbirds! Got one one visiting my shed roof now (last 4 days) and taking a bit of the felt roof with it..got a hole in it the size of a matchbox now.. Only the unsafe backdrop keeping it on borrowed time... bloody things! Good shot.
  23. Be interesting to see some chrono results when you get chance andy.
  24. Sorry mate... Beauty bad head this morning!! Would have been different if it was Newcastle brown ale... TWATS
  25. Hey up mark.. Told me the same.. 11 fps spread over the first 5 mags in. 177.
