  1. It's very reliable for a .22 rimmy, seems to love either the Geco Semi-Auto 40gr or the good old CCI Standards in 40gr too, definitely does not like the Hornady stuff though...pants
  2. Ok, well I thought the TAC R1 would make a good "Fun Gun" as it were and decided to buy one. I'd seen a couple down at the range and was already well aware of the S&W 15-22 doing the rounds and it's subsequent success. Semi-auto .22 rimmy? In an AR-15 platform? What's not to like I thought. Cheap ammo, plenty of fun etc, etc. I'm a member of a few clubs so obviously proceeded to take it to one of said clubs, which shall remain nameless in order to protect the innocent. The reactions have been mixed to say the least. Anything from "They're not proper rifles" to "Guns like that give the shoo
  3. Good man on both counts Stavross, getting your mate out doing a bit and for slotting a few bunnies. Out on weds night myself, hoping to grab a couple and get my mate out. He's just got into shooting so is pretty keen to see how he fares with the "blood 'n' guts" side of hunting. Weather is supposed to be changing around here now so fingers crossed for a good night. Anyway, well done fella.
  4. This actually made me blow tea through my nose when I read it....simply brilliant
  5. Good work that, 5 minutes well spent right there sir
  6. Ok, looks like the Winchester Silvertips are as good as any other .223 ammo i've used, at least against a watermelon anyway.

It was a watermelon on a steel spike, about 75m away. A bit of "Hobo" ballistic testing Gav :)

  7. Looks good to me, if that had been my attempt it would look like i'd shot it with 00 buck at 100m. Keep trying house loads at the club using the club gun and a peep sight...but no real luck. Got a slot for a .357 lever action on my FAC, but i can see that becoming a variation for something i can actually shoot, like a .308 or 6.5 creedmoor blunderbuss : )
  8. I also should stop taking mine out whilst on the perms, nothing as technical or scientific as RF emissions affecting the local wildlife in my case though.....just got form for it dropping out of my pocket and having to yomp all over trying to find it again at 4am in the morning!!

    WARS COMING

Ah, the good ol' ginnel, or as they became more commonly known in the 90's "Smack heads Lanes"...many's the time we used to have to dodge discarded needles and step over semi-comatosed junkies...fond memories eh? I remember at the time people would comment with such things as "A spell in the army would do them good" or "Bring back national service". I never agreed with that myself, why sully our armed forces with adding them to the ranks. Could always put them on IED detection duty i suppose.
  10. It's a step in the right direction, not before time too.
  11. I take it they are lead shot and fibre wad? Never tried them, although these days it's hard to get anything other than #7.5 or #9 shot from my "local" shop. Let us know how they perform Sausagedog.
  12. Not a bad bag at all that Sam, great work....didn't enjoy so much luck myself unfortunately, rain definitely stopped play here.
  13. Hello there Fella, good to have you around
  14. Ba-dum Tish!!! He's here all week folks
  15. Surprisingly yes, straight out of the box.....deffo see the imperfections when the picture is blown up like that. Probably zero like a shotgun too
  16. Aahh, some hope for them in .223 cal then at least Sausagedog.....maybe
  17. Pretty much can't ask for more than that really Stavross, if it drops them it's all good :)
  18. I know right? Some FEO's are just not swayed by tea and biscuits unfortunately....otherwise i'd have a Gimpy
  19. Well, on a trip to my local RFD to pick up some 12ga Shells for the Semi-auto I thought I would peruse the ammo cabinet. Always up for a bargain I spied these little beauties. Worth a go in my .223 Savage. At just 12 quid it was a no brainer, sadly only the one box though. Not had chance to try them yet. Has anybody ever used these, are they good, bad or just gimmicky? Cheers in advance guys.
  20. I reckon my .223, some good old Hornady V-Max in 55gr...or some Winchester Varmint X, also in 55gr. Cooking along at 3240fps they don't do too badly....until I can get a .243 or a 22-250 of course
  21. Welcome aboard, good to have you around
  22. Thankyou for the warm welcome chaps, much appreciated
