Yes for sure. Villaman is your best reference point here as Mitch has done the mods to his Ultra and is best informed on the subject. Phil -

As you don't have a reg fitted, if it is anything like the one I had, it would fall off after about 28 shots after a fill of air so your tests want to be done before it starts to vary which means no more than 30 shots max and when testing I used to try to test a pellet in the first 20 shots then top it up again with air. Had I kept it, I was to have a reg fitted and a bigger air cylinder to offer a larger shot count and greater control. Nice rifles, should never have sold it, mine really gave the best results with JSB exact pellets. Phil -
I don't have one but you may be better putting a 'WANTS' in the gun sales section. Phil

I am tempted to take the bottle back to your rfd (when you are able) and get it checked out for pressure because I there has to be something wrong with the bottle pressure or fittings. It is a pity you don't have a second bottle to try, I have two, partly as I had two fac rifles which tend to use a fair bit of air but also it gave me a second bottle to take out with me if needed so it is very easy to check if there is a fault. If you don't have a Foster fitting plug, get one. I use mine to check just how much air is in the tank and for a couple of quid, well worth the dosh. ht
-
Have you got a Foster fitting with a plug/bung so you can turn on the air to full pressure without any coming out of the tank. You will get a true reading of just how much pressure is in the tank. Has the tank been working without issue then just stopped working. Phil

Heavy bloody thing but in some ways I wish I had kept mine just for plinking / range work as it was super accurate after it had been tuned. So need to find me a 57 which is light enough to take out. That will keep you quiet for a while Jimmy. Phil

Me too Si, loads of stuff on fly tying and fishing plus some lure pike fishing stuff I had forgotten about, must get them all sorted. Phil

I sent that to all my friends Jimmy after you sent it to me and EVERYONE was moved by it, I am pleased you put it on here mate. Phil

Absolute garbage so chuck it away ................................................ I tell you what, send it on to me and I will dispose of it for you just to save you the trouble ? JUST KIDDING Phil

If you are shooting on your own, you will need an autoloading trap with a magazine and also a 12 leisure battery. The clay magazines vary in terms of holding capacity which range from about 65 - 350 clays but remember that if you go for a large capacity model, make sure you have it mounted on a cart of some kind as the bugger will be heavy. Cost wise, there are some decent makes and some utter crap available on ebay so be aware. Makes that I have experience with and can confirm they are good products, these are Bowman, Promatic and world champion John Bidwell's own traps, the Auto Sporter

Can anyone help me zero and calibrate
philpot replied to Dannybow's topic in General Airgun Discussion
When setting zero, it is really important to have the rifle very still or each time you shoot, it will vary the shot position, so with this in mind, I would strongly suggest you shoot from a bench / table or laid prone on the ground. It will be a huge benefit if you can rest the rifle on a support which can be bought from any gunshop or use the leg out of an old pair of denims tying a knot at one end, fill about 6'' of the leg with rice or bird seed or something similar. Once enough is in the leg, tie it off using a tie strap. You now have a very stable shooting rest to help keep the rifle nic -
A good place to start is 'Clay and Game' https://www.claygame.co.uk/mec-600-jr-mark-5-pd150 Phil

Welcome aboard Danny. When you say, help you, in what way. Are you wanting someone to zero the gun for you or advise on here. Phil -
Svc & fac renewal in the covid 19 time

I know boys, such a shame but it will all come back to normal at some stage and with any luck, we will still be here to enjoy it. I just wish I had bought the HW57 when I had the chance then I would be laughing. Phil

Just been having a few shots in the garden and I don't know if I am just feeling weak this morning but the trigger seemed heavier than it did the other day. With this in mind, I got out a set of fishing scales, not ideal I know but they are all I have available for now and the results were a bit of a surprise to say the least, 15 - 17lbs. Even if we make a small allowance for any inaccuracy in the scales, it is still bloody heavy. Definitely in need of a Si Brown touch of TLC. Phil

This may help, look at your region and see the police statements on the subject. https://basc.org.uk/coronavirus/firearms/ -
I totally agree with that. I have over the years bought a number of semi auto guns including old Brownings, Remington, Breda, Beretta, Hatsan and recently a Pietta and not one of them has ever been a problem and in most cases because they are 'run in' so to speak, they have been able to shoot and cycle light loads, ie 21gr shells such as Hull Comp-X which my daughter used some years ago. One s/a I tried and was a Benelli Raffielo (or something like that) which was really nice and the Beretta Multisport high rib which I used on Olymic Trap and that was amazing. Phil

A friend of mine has one and likes it but it must be said that he also has a Beretta s/a (can't remember which model but only about a year old) and he says he prefers, just, the balance of the Beretta. Two rfd's I use both have said to me in the past when I was looking at Brownings that for reliability, there was nothing to touch the Beretta along with superb back up from GMK making the Beretta their favoured semi. Not my thoughts but these two rfd's made me stop the thought of buying a Browning s/a, in fact I didn't buy any as my wife was after a new gun so I thought I would wait a while ?

To be honest meece, I have never tried them but would like to, any rcommendations. What range are we talking about with the shorts as a matter of interest. Phil
