  1. Well well well Walshie. I had not seen that it works out every year..........................even more strange. It is your birthday THIS year so it doesn't matter if you have not had your birthday yet. Phil
  2. To be honest it doesn't affect me as I couldn't afford one anyway BUT I love the Wildcat ( I had two) and hated the poxy 8 shot mag and if I ever do have the cash, one will reside in my cabinet for sure. Phil
  3. This happens once in a thousand years. Add your age this year to the year of your birth.................................the answer will be 2020. Something to have a bit of fun with. Me, well here goes, age 68 + birth year 1952 = 2020...............................well fact stranger than fiction. ? Try it out. Phil
  4. Amazing Jimmy, no other words needed and just what you need mate. Phil
  5. My mistake Mitch. Perhaps another senior moment passing over me. ? Phil
  6. Not to argue Mitch but I was pretty sure that RS are lighter than FAP . Express the same as FAP. It could be me that has got it wrong but I had a feeling that when I had all the pellets in my drawer, I checked them for weight comparisions but it was quite a while ago so possibly wrong, again. Phil
  7. Oh bloody hell not another decent product in their hands, Mitch will be happy, he is one of the few who rate them. ? Phil
  8. Been looking on Chambers site for spares but not so many still available. Phil
  9. My pal managed to find an unusual item in the skip, a Diana Series 70, model 79, .22 air rifle in serious need of some TLC and then some. She is in a poor state but it would be nice to give this British made Milbro Diana a face lift. The black paint has been put on with a knife and fork judging by the look of it. Oh yes I forgot to say that I checked that it actually worked and it does but only producing 4.60fpe......................what a weapon. Phil
  10. The RM8 is a big lump of a gun and known to be front end heavy so perhaps you are getting some movement out in the field due to weight. Phil
  11. Well bees wax is going to work Jimmy and I would have thought whatever is on / in that wood will not affect the wax............................with luck. Phil
  12. Yes, I think you have hit the nail on the head as there is a possibility that you are snatching at the trigger instead of a gentle squeeze. I have done it many times and had to correct myself. As you say , technique is the key. Phil
  13. I might bring it over to Anglesey next time Matt. We came over and stayed at the Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris a few weeks before Covid hit our shores and promised ourselves we would come back in Sept / Oct and do a bit of sea fishing but in all honesty, I think we will not be going anywhere this year. Phil
  14. Thats good to know SD and is what I have been told by several others. Phil
  15. I didn't say they were cheap and to a man of your standing, I though that would be mere pocket money ? Phil
  16. I was told last night that the 008 units were selling at £949.00 on ebay coming in from Europe. My pal had an issue with his 008 which Ian quicky sorted and my pal sold it for just under a grand a few weeks ago. Again I heard that Thomas Jacks and Pulsar had reported Pard for supplying lasers that did not conform to European standards, well they have had their arses well and truely kicked by Pard, cheaper and better than Pulsar is the word but I couldn't comment on that. Phil
  17. The best air bows are made by FX in Sweden. They are modeled on the fac Air rifles such as the Impact or Crown. FX is now imported by the Sportman Gun Centre but I am not sure if they can be imported. They are featured every now and then on 'Airgun 101' channel and each of the contributers there is a selection of past videos, I know 'Ted's Holdover' channel has one and there was some footage showing some hunting using the FX air bow / gun. Phil
  18. I doubt it as well ........................................? Phil
  19. Good to hear you got sorted Jimmy and good of the boys to show their true colours, thats what friends are all about. Looking forward to going over to Si myself to pick up the cabinet and of course a chin wag with Si. When I saw the tiger stripes in your Raider stock last night, I just knew that this was going to be cracking when completed. What most of you guys don't know is that when I spoke to Jimmy around 7pm, he had already stripped the varnish, washed the wood and was on with smoothing down with wet n dry, this is not going to be very long before it is done and gleaming on these p
  20. Cheers Jon, I will run a few tests on that basis. All new ground for me, a pcp boy. Phil
  21. Whilst I am not going to use my hw99 for very much live quarry shooting but I have a few perms where it will be fun to use BUT as a novice springer hunter and springer user period, what do you lads do whilst waiting for the bunny / squirrel / magpie to turn up in terms of having the rifle ready. Do you cock and load the gun with just the safety to slip off or keep the spring relaxed with a pellet chambered ready to cock and shoot. It might sound a daft question but I really am not sure it is okay to leave the gun cocked without causing damage to the spring and if so how long would you
  22. Oh yes Ben, stick my name in the hat please, that looks a cracker. Phil
  23. Just had half an hour before the rain came back as I wanted to make a slight adjustment of the scope vertical turret to try to get a tighter group, I really like this rifle. A five shot group after a couple of clicks adjustment. Phil
