I don't think you would gain anything Meece as what you have does what you want and for you the only time a sub 12 air rifle would be better suited than your rifles is in very restricted areas such as inside buildings, large gardens etc. There is no doubt that a great deal of pleasure is gained by using an air rifle on quarry such as clearing rats from around pig / cattle pens or getting rid of ferals in buildings, don't forget that a modern pcp with a quality mod IS quieter than a 22lr even on subs. well I could go on but won't. The screw behind the trigger moves the trigger back and forwards not trigger weight Mark, I tried it yesterday. I will have a look at bbs thanks. I am not happy with that power level for live quarry Shark to be honest but whilst it is not used for hunting, I would like it to be as good as possible. Phil

Got an email from BASC this morning which really says very little and dances around the subject somewhat. Phil Coronavirus and shooting – an update After consulting the government, BASC has updated its advice for conducting essential pest control in the UK while the current Coronavirus restrictions remain in place. In line with the Prime Minister’s statement, when making a decision on whether or not to conduct essential wildlife management, you should consider: • Is the landowner, or person responsible for giving permission, happy for you to be on the land in the curren

I have been playing with my son in laws BSF rifle that was given to him last year. It is in need of some tweeking with our Si hopefully able to make it sing sweetley again BUT whilst it is down on power and only in my cottage garden offering only 15mts, this rifle certainly performs well. I popped on a dovetail to weaver rail as the only scope I could use was my Mamba Lite which has weaver mounts and I couldn't be bothered changing them, not ideal but nevertheless good enough to pass some time in the garden as we can't go on any of our perms at this moment in time. If our Jimmy got his

Sorry to say but these guns can be prone to issues with the reg. Some people have no problems whilst other certainly do. I agree with Si, take it back, good luck and hope you get it sorted. Phil

The Pro Sport is the last to be done.

Must admit that I actually WANT a springer Mark to do exactly as you are doing to pass time in the garden, something you would not expect to hear from me but there it is. There is no point in using the Impact in the garden, no challenge, I will leave that for hunting. I was saying to Si, made a big mistake not buying an HW57 when I had the chance but I am popping a scope on my son in laws BSF springer which is low on power but nevertheless it will do (hopefully) to give me a bit of a challenge although I don't know if it will give up the ghost so we will see. I NEED A SPRINGER..... -
If it is a .177, try Air Arms Field Express as they work really well. Phil

HW57 for a lightweight under lever. I keep promising myself one but not got round to it and something else always gets in the way. My rfd had one which I shot a few times on his 25mt indoor range, my god was it pellet on pellet, fantastic but don't know if it had been tuned. The most annoying thing was that the rfd asked me to show a guy a springer in the range so I took the 57 and he shot it a few times after I showed him what to do. When I went to make the coffees, the twat bought it........................F*&^%$£%%" I will not do that again I can tell you and I have regretted th

I use this company quite a bit, good outfit however the Mountmaster had a reputation for losing zero. I bought a rifle with one and also had this problem so it went. Perhaps they are better now. Phil

I have sold all my sub 12 air rifles but found an open sights springer of low power which will get some hammer over the comming weeks. I nearly bought an HW57 springer a little while ago, wish I had now as that would have been perfect right now. The RFD's around here are now closed for whatever period an no money after buying my new wmr so it will have to be this old one. Never mind. Phil -

That is a slightly insane look on your face Stav .............................. you need a gin in the sun.....................just like me. I have just spent the last hour taking photos of the rods I am selling and put them in the sales section. I will get my daughter to stick em on face thingy if they don't sell here. Now tomorrow what shall I do ........................................... hmmmm, time to get the kayak out and give it a good wash and spruce up for some fun in the sea, oh shite, can't go, oh well it will be clean when we can go, if the winter is not close on us again. -
Rods clearout, both sea and freshwater View Advert I have just been having a major clearout of my rods and so here are some of the ones I am going to sell. I thought I would have a sort through my fishing rods and gear today, quite surprising just how many rods I have bought, had given, won, scrounged etc................43......43, now that was a surprise so looks like I need to sell some rods. Reels, lures, rigs and general tackle tomorrow. This is fun ? Phil -
Durham police, firearms licensing has a notice on their web site saying :- QUOTE Shooting vermin alone for the purpose of protecting crops and livestock will be permitted. Shooting for pleasure and /or in groups of two or more will not. I have spoken to the Humberside Firearms dept again this morning to see if they are doing similar, I was told that someone else has sent the link through and they are in touch with Durham police but no exemptions have been advise to them. Any changes will go on the website. So in essence you lads up in Durham area sounds like you a

Just had an email from BASC stating that the Game Fair is now postponed to the 18 - 20th September which is no big surprise at this time. Have to sort my hotel bookings now and get a refund if possible. Phil

Our firearms deptartment have said it is a grey area but in essence, don't shoot and stay at home. It is a shame as the sea wall is only 1.2 miles to the end of our village and we have 4 perms within a 5 min drive so very little distance for me to be able to fish or shoot BUT if I am seen doing these things, what will other people be saying about me, just as I would be saying if I saw people out doing things which are outside the letter of the rules. We have to simply comply with the rules and find something to occupy ourselves, I will sort my garage today, then sort my fishing gear and m

I am.

I phone my local firearms office today and was told that it was a bit of a grey area for the police however there may some discussion if you were a full time pest controller but taking the gun out to aid the farmers crop / stock is your pleasure not your essential business. The rule is that we can go out for a 30min walk once a day, tell me if I have that wrong, therefore shooting for a few hours is breaking the rule and putting us the wrong side of the police and although it is a pain, until further clarification is gained, stay at home. I see BASC have posted their latest news which is

Well I have had a very productive day sorting stuff in the greenhouse and getting all the seeds sown, tomorrow is a day to empty the garage and sort through everything while the weather is good. My local tip has closed today until further notice so once I have sorted all the garage stuff, I will have to put all the stuff for dumping into the ................garage ? Phil
