  1. The Wildcat is a superb rifle, I have had both .177 and .22 in sub 12, totally accurate, reliable, great to use. I now have a Mk3 fac .22 and again superb so why bugger about with it, they do not need you to tinker, just enjoy it. Phil
  2. Only heard good things about this guy, good luck with it and post up what you findings are when you get it back. Phil
  3. I had an Annie 1416 but really didn't get on with it so bought a Tikka which for me is spot on. Phil
  4. Interesting Ben as my P35 is listed as 180 shots per fill, I can't say I have done that many but certainly managed more than 125 on target shots. I did a mag count one day at the range then got bored and came home. ? Phil
  5. Very pleased to hear your son is in a better state Mark, it is difficult to see our children having issues no matter how old they are. All the best to you both mate. Phil
  6. Just remember to let out the air before sending.
  7. A trip up the A1 in that case or get a gun dealer to send it for you, I was going to get my rfd to send mine if I decided to go that route. Phil
  8. Look at your other post as I just responded to it. Phil
  9. Track down Mark Dempsey on facebook or someone may have a number but he is a bit of a specialist with P35, I may have mine done but in fairness I only use mine in the garden and not for vermin control, fac for that. Phil
  10. Yes it was a s/s given to me so I was giving it to another friend so that Jimmy could use it when he visited but having never fired it, I had no idea there was an issue, it really was bloody funny to see Jimmy taking the full force of both barrels going off together, I thought he did well to stay upright. ? Phil
  11. Well I can tell you Jimmy, Si has just popped round and we placed the recoil pad in position and he LOVES it so I dare say we will be taking one of the clay traps out this weekend to put both the gun and Si through their paces.
  12. Well you have all seen Jimmy's hard work taking this bloody awful painted stock and turning it into a really nice stock. The stock is from a Winchester o/u shotgun that I got for my son in law to shoot clays and the odd woodie and now the stock has arrived about an hour ago so I just wanted you all to see it back on the gun. The recoil pad is not fitted as yet but simply placed so you can see roughly what it will look like. A huge thanks to Jimmy from both Simon (my son in law) and myself for all the hard work that has gone into this. It must be said that at first I asked Jimmy if he wan
  13. A thread from 2013, you have been busy. Why not just check with the local police. Phil
  14. Welcome aboard Peter. Never come across a Skan so cannot help but depending where in Suffolk you are, I know of a proper gunsmith in Halesworth near Southwold who may be able to help, I am shocking at names but I think it is Richardsons and lovely people they are. Phil
  15. I have also looked a couple of times at these guns but like the others, I have a really accurate HW35 that I never use and keep saying to myself, I will sell it so what is the point of buying another springer. Looks very bice though. It will be interesting to hear how accurate it is. Phil
  16. You will no doubt get a post from villaman soon to tell you about the utter crap known as Daystate which brings me nicely to my point of view, buy an HW100 with an HW mod fitted and enjoy very quiet and accurate shooting or buy a Daystate and embark on a long and miserable journey with the company telling you that whatever is wrong with your gun, they can find no fault and it's your fault anyway............................even under while in warranty. BUY HW or to throw the spanner in the works, an FX which are superb.......................................? If you are buying fac vers
  17. I think the article from Wolfdog regarding Eley is more of a test centre in which case they cannot use guns with dirty barrels as results can only be evaluated with a identical start point. For my own live quarry shooting I am happier with a leaded barrel and my Wildcat Panther mod is quieter with a bit of muck in there not that it needs to be quieter although if on the WMR it is a definite advantage. Phil
  18. Can't beat the thump of the .25 Mitch, roll on next year and I will have another one myself. Phil
  19. Must admit I never clean my .22 Tikka except on it's birthday.......... I use RWS as well and can only sing it's praises, superb ammo and better than anything else I have tried but eley came a close second. Cleaning every time you use the gun is just not a good idea at all..................................................STOP IT ? Phil
  20. Philpot is well chuffed Tom, I just don't see why it was painted dark green in the first place. The Winchester o/u 12 gauge is for my son in law who helps me out a lot AND as the bloody turbo on my Passat estate went this morning he will be helping out some more. I think when the oil has been worked into the stock, it will take on a nice lustre and become a cracking first shotgun. Phil
  21. Well a poor nights sleep, clocks went back and I am looking at the prospect of another day decorating, nearly every room done now and it cannot come tooooooo soon. I do hope you guys are having a better day than me. No posts on here since 14rh of the month so I thought I would get you lot going.........................perhaps. Phil
  22. I have the fluorescent bead / strip on both my Caesar Guerini and on my Browning semi as factory fitted and to be honest, like foxdropper said, you don't need anything BUT given the choice I am happy with the ones fitted to my guns. Beretta use the fluorescent strip/bead sights on all their competition shotguns and I do like them but no they are NOT necessary. Phil
  23. Anyone want to buy a kidney because that is what it would take to buy that Pulsar.......... Phil
  24. As I understand it Mitch, the Pard thermal / nv scope is a thermal spotter scope with a swit to turn it to normal nv although I have not seen the actual spec but I understand it will be here soon. Phil
