  1. Perhaps some clever lad on electronics may be able to do it but why would you when the NiteSite does it anyway. I used to shoot around 1000 rats per year at our dairy farm and both my buddy and myself used NiteSite as we are always scanning those dark corners and whilst my pal has 008 and 007 units and loves them, even he would not part with his NiteSite for ratting, far far easier to have a quick sweep of the rifle at waist height than near eye system. Phil
  2. True although I believe they have reformed the company with a slightly different name with a new range of near eye nv units, they are proberbly importing from China some 007 copy. Phil
  3. Don't feel stupid fella, I have used NiteSite Viper and Wolf for years and whilst I have not had your issue, these things can catch you out. Not so popular nowadays with all the Pard units out there and the company closed down a couple of years ago, there is someone on facebook who carrys a large stock of spares. I also use a Pard 007 but nothing beats the nitesite for ratting and scanning an area, I would not get rid of both my units, far too useful. Phil
  4. No idea, I don't know much about these guns. Phil
  5. Interesting development with this gun, I picked up another mod to help my buddy out but it was still spreading the group like a shotty. In fact we tested two hw mods which were no better although with no mod, it is pellet on pellet. I can only assume the thread of the barrel is sloppy which it feels like it all the way until it meets the rebate in the barrel where it goes solid BUT I am guessing the thread is badly cut. Needless to say the rifle is boxed up ready to go back next week. Phil
  6. No No No Mitch, oh how you misunderstand, I never said I shot it in the garden, Oh No No No, that was a feral at the local dairy farm.......................honestly. We don't want people to get the wrong impression you know. ? It came with a BSA scope but as I bought this little number a couple of years ago for a project and the fact that BSA scopes are shite, I switched them over and this one is much better. Phil
  7. Whilst in our rfd last week, my wife, Trish, was chatting with an old friend and so was I but with someone else, in the midst of this Trish was stood next to a cute little camo stocked Co2 gun, so she picked it up, shouldered it said it was really nice and put it back. I was deeply involved in conversation when my pal the rfd handed me a bag od Co2 capsules saying I will need those, Why, I asked and with a smile he said for Trish's new toy.................................yes she did, she had bought the little cute gun catching her eye that morning. The gun comes with 2 barrels, the 17'' b
  8. Just been setting up an NP03 this morning for my pal as his garden gun but the mod was clipping and way to heavy so that needs changing but with one of my mods on it was pellet on pellet in my garden, Nice thing with this gun is you set the scope for optimum position with the adjustable stock set forward a little then simply click the release button and slide the stock right back for using the Pard 007, 10 sec job and a good idea in mt opinion. Phil
  9. I only know of two people with these Ben and both are utter shite. I would take it back and swap for something else to be honest. Phil
  10. Wait until I show you what my dear wife has bought for garden plinking............. I will get some photos done and posted. Phil
  11. My shooting pal had one of those NP02, good little guns but he sold it for some reason however today he told me he popped in to our rfd and picked up the NP03 just for garden shooting. Phil
  12. Nice one Si, it's amazing how boring it gets when you are stuck at home, by the way who shot the target for you ................................................ ? Phil
  13. Razzle Dazzle Jimmy, it's a little sweety. Have you changed your car as that's not your truck. Phil
  14. Give Forest Lodge Guns, Market Rasen, Lincs a call Ben as they used to sell them, perhaps still do and they have forgotten more about rifles than most shops will ever know. Phil
  15. Pity you are too far away as I have a 35 export model to sell, you could have tried it, not quite as heavy as the 97 but certainly accurate. Phil
  16. Oh I am so pleased you said that Timmy because it made little sense to me when you consider it was supposed to be for the individual which clearly it was not. Phil
  17. My rfd based in Scunthorpe, North Lincs, have a rack with the bargain guns in and well worth a look. I just picked up a nice Winchester 101 XTR, o/u, fixed 1/4 & 1/2 choke barrels for my son in law, £250 and it shoots a treat. I tested another, roach belly Phantom o/u (browning A1 copy) £150. Might be worth giving them a call.
  18. I don't clean my barrel at all but every now and then I take off my Wildcat Panther mod and give it a few taps on the bench after opening it up, loads of crap fall out then check with 10 shots and we are away again. Phil
  19. It's the airgun shooting section so it is very unlikely anyone would have a spade.
  20. On the HSE / Reach UK date, this is a proposal only at present and whilst I have barely skimmed a few of the 220 pages, it looks like there could be exceptions. As I said earlier, hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Far far too early to be certain of the final outcome as it affect large number of jobs, vermin issues etc so just keep an open mind other than believing basc can not be trusted with our sport. Phil
  21. Timmy, I have just found the puplic consultation document from the HSE but they are really wanting figures of ammo both lead and lead free on a GB scale not individuals so how have you filled in your entry as I have scrapped my entry as being not what they are asking for OR is there another document that applies to the individual. I am at present wading through the 220 page UK REACH, UK restriction report which is heavy going but I am hoping to better understand the full situation of the proposals. Phil
  22. Just arrived today in my inbox, the latest from basc. FACE complaint successful on EU lead restriction consultation - The British Association for Shooting and Conservation BASC.ORG.UK The European Ombudsman has recognised a case of maladministration in relation to access to evidence during last year’s EU lead ammunition restriction...
