  1. Joking apart Tim, we may well ask if you want to come over and have a crack at the deer. We have not yet taken it over and it will no doubt take a little time to learn the perm but as we progress, we will also see just what the deer situation is. There must be a few as the guy who shoots the farms now, shoots the deer so we will see how things develop mate. I also may have a deer culling job that will need to be done near my home so if you are interested let me know. I can tell you that the previous guy would butcher them on site and pay £6 per kilo to the landowner and this arrangement w
  2. Ahhh, now there is the difference Si, I now don't bother going out on a full moon as we have found there is simply not much about, rats or rabbits and we seem to cast long shadows so I watch a film or go sea fishing.................................the cod are coming. Phil
  3. At that budget, you might be able to pick up a s/h unit. Try looking in the target shooting magazines.
  4. I have used both of these PCP pistols and the Hammerli AP20 is amazing but not cheap. http://www.edinkillie.co.uk/ecatalog/hammerli-ap20-air-pistol-p-1463.html The Air Arms Alfa is a nice pistol but for me not as good as the Hammerli for handling and holding aim. https://www.air-arms.co.uk/showroom_product/alfa-pistol I depends on what you want to spend, like all guns. My pigeon / rough shooting guns is about £500 s/h but my Clay shooting gun was nearly £4k s/h so horses for courses. Phil
  5. Nice photos and shooting Si. I like your hat mate, very stylish.......................... Funny about the colour of the Impact because I wanted a black one but as the silver one came up I bought that. Now I don't much like the black and far prefer the silver. Phil
  6. I wouldn't swear to it but I think there is a s/h in my rfd with a scope on, I will give them a call tomorrow to see if I am right, if so it is in Scunthorpe
  7. I can only agree. I spoke to ASI technical dept just after the prick made his statements about the fact that he won't sell the Impact guns, they advised that all but one of the guns returned (6) had been messed with by people trying to tune the guns and only one had a genuine fault which was a seal. The other thing was that he voted the Impact as rifle of the year, not that his thoughts are taken seriously anyway after all anyone having Tony 'the idiot' Belas as co host on his wonderful little youtube slot needs their fecking head looking at or even watching them perform. Phil
  8. That Daz is where we need the advice of someone more experienced than me with such issues. One of the lads will come up with sound advice. Phil
  9. Just remember the wood on a stock is hard so don't use too small a drill to allow for screw bite as the screw will not turn and in the worst case could split the stock when doing a forend as the wood is not so thick there. Phil
  10. Have you ever used Superdome in an HW with any success because I find them to be utter shite in any gun I have tried them and in all cals. Phil
  11. You might have caught and dislodged the seal in the barrel if you pulled too big a piece of cleaning cloth through the barrel. Failing that, I don't know. Did you notice if you had to pull hard to get the cleaning cloth through. Phil
  12. Stroll on Jimmy, that is well out of order. Personally, I would give it back to the RFD and ask him to send it back to sort. Normally, if there is a fault, report it to ASI and they will pick up from the RFD so there is no charge to the owner and no charge for the work done. I would not worry about warranty, simply tell Tony what the issue is and that Sean has done his best to resolve it and let them take over, they will still give warranty on the gun.
  13. It's a real shame mate having these issues and to be honest I have not heard of any problems for ages with the Impact. Is yours fac or sub 12. Phil
  14. Sean I think it is time to give Simon a call at ASI. Tony may well answer the phone but ask to speak to Simon 01728 688 555. I have found these guys to be superb in their help on phone support. I can't offer any help as I have never had those issues. The reg pressure seems low as my .25fac is 140 bar, when it dropped a while ago accuracy went out of the window but it is easy to adjust up but NEVER down. Simon talked me through the process because I am bloody useless with technical repairs / modifications. The system is designed to be adjusted by the owner but I would not do anything witho
  15. Have you asked the current landowner if he can put you on to any people he knows who might let you shoot on their land Phill.
  16. I am not into the tactical look at all Rez but until you actually get to shoot one, it is a bit strange how the group is going toward the Impact. More than 18 months ago I saw a s/h Impact in the rfd in .22 sub 12, I slapped on a spare scope and went in the on site range.......................................this was a different shooting experience. I looked at converting it to fac as that was what I wanted but at that time just too much hassle. I went away with only one goal, to own an Impact but why, I don't like tactical / military styled guns BUT this one is different. When the .25 fa
  17. Welcome to the forum Dazzer. The HW100 is not normally pellet fussy at all but if these guns are new, they will have a coating inside the barrel to protect them in both storage and transit which will need to be cleaned out. It is not possible to say how much gunge is in the barrel but I would do this first before giving up on any pellet except RWS as I have never had a good result with those. I have just bought a .22 HW110k which had quite a bit of gunge in the barrel so I didn't bother testing until the cleaning was done. Both JSB derivative pellets including AA Field should do the
  18. I totally agree mate, on sub 12 I don't think it is such an issue but on my .25 fac, the shroud came out around 7'' but it is far less on yours. Enjoy it buddy and get some kills. I have just come back from a bit of walked up game shooting this morning, shot like a twat but managed a pheasant, a woodcock and a pigeon. Not saying how many I missed but still a great morning out with my shooting buddy. Trish can sort the pheasant out when she gets home. Phil
  19. Yes the shot count is just amazing and once you are used to the magazine, you never even think about it even in total darkness to fill or load in the gun although .177 is a fair bit more fiddly to fill. I will take a photo Jimmy as the mod thread is not a standard thread but as I am useless with stuff like that, I could not tell you what thread it is. Perhaps Si has looked into that already. One aspect is that there have been some Impacts including mine that had an issue with pellet clipping which it was believed to be a loose fit on the shroud so it is really important that the shroud is
  20. I take it that you are not going to mess around selling the items above..........................or at least I should think you are not. ? Phil
  21. Ah Jimmy old pal..................................................................you hated the Impact as I recall, now look at you. ? I always loved the FX Wildcat as a compact rifle with a good shot count and would have gone for one if they had improved the mag loading and mag capacity. On several occasions I had the mag jump out of the gun and into a lot of nasty stuff around the cow pens. I really hoped the Mk2 had offered a bigger mag and a better loading system but it hasn't so I didn't buy one. It also saved me about £300 which these days means a great deal to me. Phil
