  4. What ever you do wear a mask mate. There is asbestos in some artex or so I was told on a asbestos awareness coarse. Cheers Arry

  7. Got these come up every where in the garden, Red Cracking Boletes but they are only classed as fair to eat so I don't bother with them. They bruise blue if touched on the under side. Cheers Arry

  10. Out for a forage to day, the first Cep of the year and a few more Boletes some Field Mushrooms, a few Chanterelles. A Blackening Polypore (not that good to eat). First Cep Blackening Polypore. Cheers Arry Warning do not eat a Bolete like the big one and the smaller one next to it in the top right hand corner in the first photo. It cuts blue then fades, not sure what Bolete it is.

  12. Always eat a small amount the first time you try any fungi as it may not agree with you. That looks a nice young specimen you have there. The mushrooms are all just starting Field Mushrooms today Few days ago saw Beef Steak young Chanterells and some Oak Boletes ( Butter Bolete). Cheers Arry

  14. Personally I don't think it does but it does have the texture sort of of chicken breast, sort of breaks away in strands if you know what I mean. You could maybe fool somebody if you put it in a stew. Cheers Arry

  18. Good time of year to start foraging mate. Blackberry's etc, make yourself some jam its very rewarding eating your own jam in the depths of winter. The Mushrooms are just starting. Get your self a mushroom book or two "River Cottage Handbook No 1 Mushrooms" is good in fact the do a hole set on foraging. There are many good mushrooming books out there , "Field Guide to Edible Mushrooms of Britain and Europe" by Peter Jordan is another good one . The main thing "Do Not Eat Any Thing Your Not Sure Of", keep your eye out for Giant Puff Ball mushroom its the size of a foot ball or loaf of bread ve
