Make two cuts with a junior hack saw carefully down to the leather strap. When you are right through give the strap a light pull. it should pull away as seen. Don't go any further cut the strap before pulling any more out so you do not put the whole of the strap out. I have in the past broken the resin sides doing that. carefully and slowly ease the new strap in place. Glue with Araldite. r Hope this might help somebody. Cheers Arry

I can see they will be able to ban Coal but I don't see how they will be able to control the sale of logs. Where are they going to get all these smoke police from they can't even police the country ffs. If you have a wood burner and I do then it's in your own interest not to burn green wood. So nothing changes really. Cheers Arry

I agree plum and apple are good. But Walnut mate they a proper tree get real big and they are lovely trees. I could have bought a whip or a more established tree, that don't do it for me. I foraged them nuts at the same time she was born and planted it so its exactly the same age as her. Also that nut was forming on the tree at the same time she was forming. Its just them little things that give it a bit more meaning if you get where I'm coming from. Atb. Cheers Arry

The only people your going to get permission for digging foxes around here is Pheasant shoots and your not getting that unless your a beater. There are two other types of farmer, ones that don't like hunting and killing in general and one that go hunting, none of these two will give you permission. So my suggestion would be go beating for one or two shoots get in with the keepers and they will put you on the Fox. Cheers Arry

I do mate but don't want to start doing it as a job so sorry please don't ask. I'm not an expert I did work in a telecommunication factory for a while pick up a bit there but I don't understand the whole MK 1 box. What I would say is 9 out of 10 boxes fail on the the on / off dial switch which is another potentiometer you can buy these on eBay in the ferret finder spares section, if you can solder they are not to hard to do. As for calibrating a box it is tricky to get use to. I think if you have one collar that is working at the right depth then leave it as if you try and tune the box t

I love that mate that just my vain of thought. Rabid mate putting the nuts in the fridge is to help gemination I think its called stratifying. I suppose its to imitate winter. But I do have 5 out of about 20 that have geminated and come up. I did use fresh walnuts I have foraged which may have helped. put in damp 50 - 50 sand and peat. I also put some in a bucket that had not been scarified and out of about 12 there are 2 that have come up. The Walnut must be planted with the pointed end down out 2 inches deep. I don't know why walnuts but its such a good wood and it produces good ed

Not sure 100% but working on them I think so. I think you have 2 like the unused one and I think they are copies. I guessing here but recon the guy you got them off ordered a copy when it came only worked to 5 foot so he complained got a replacement that worked hence the one you have that still looks new. Also hence the one that looks the same that dose work. Christ I hope you get where I coming from nearly lost myself lol. Cheers Arry

Will I ever see it mate I don't think so, Maybe have to sow some spores as well Lol. Recon I won't be around to see her grow up unfortunately its happen all a bit late for me. So I thought she might get a bit curious about her old granddad who thought to sow a walnut when she was born and plant it so she can see it grow, who knows. Perhaps I'm just a old romantic who would like to be remembered. Cant do any harm can it but we have to be realistic nobody lives for ever. Cheers Arry

I think when the MK1 was sold with one collar it was probably fine tuned to that collar. If you bought another collar then it might be a bit out. I have fixed many boxes and retuned them to a collar. It is posable to tune them but it is tricky. There are 2 potentiometers pots for short these can be tweaked one at each end of the board. They are square on some boards. The white bit with what looks like an arrow can be turned with a small screw driver. A tip if you do decide to do this then put a mark on the pot so you can return it to its preset position. As I said it is tricky

This is taking the piss now never known a year as wet as this one. Feel sorry for all people flooded out and more rain to come. I know Billy Connolly said there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing. Well f**k if I'm going out to suffer with rain running out my ass for enjoyment. I spent years in construction shovelling concret etc come home like a drowned rat but that was to earn a crust. What a crap season its been weather wise. Cheers Arry

Sleep in the back with a base ball bat. A mate of mine did that on Dartmoor in his camper when loads of cars vans getting done in broad daylight, sometimes with people watching from on top of a Tor with bins. Any way Chris parked up laid in the back with base ball bat in hand and sure enough not long after side window forced in came a arm which he reckoned he broke with the bat. Chris has gone on now but was a good sort. Cheers Arry

Yes Mate the threads on the collar body and the cap threads need to be clean as this part is a connection and completes the circuit. The Caps are TV coax cable plug caps. So it you go to a TV installation shop pick up a few plugs take the cap off and throw the rest you have nice new caps and better connection. Also the area inside the cap at the bottom where battery sits needs to be clean. Cheers Arry

You do get some that have a slow click. my mate collars run slower than mine and I can tell when they are underground which ferret is where. I would recommend good batteries though those cheap Chinese ones leak and corrode the centre pin. Giving the threads a good clean and I recon they will all read the same. Cheers Arry

All 8 foot ones of the same type IMO . Not micros. The Caps can be replaced with TV Coax Cable Plugs Caps. Clean the threads with a small wire brush and the centre copper pin with a sand paper nail file. Hope this might help Atb Cheers Arry

Back in the Autumn I was telling you guys and the rest of the world how I had become a Grandfather after waiting ten years and thinking it would never happen. Well in the Autumn I was foraging Walnuts and had the bright idea I would like to grow one for the Granddaughter, so I went about it. Put some Walnuts in damp sand and peat in the fridge in a plastic box then about Christmas wifey was giving me grief about that. So took them up the green house and some where showing signs of germinating so transplanted then into pots. Well chuff to hell some are now up, this one being the one furtherest
