Well got some Wasps today and put the vernier on them and the laugh of it all is they are exactly the same dimensions as Remington Tyrant Hammer ones I had already. If ever you see any of them Defiant pellets on your travels give us a shout please. Thanks for all your help lads. Cheers Arry

Yea mate I do realise the different calibre, just saying its the only one of that name I can find. I think the Wasp will be okay only want to twat the odd rat, but if you go to the trouble of bringing an old gun back to life you don't want to loose the power just because of the under size pellet. The only BSA Pylarm pellets I can find are .25 . It's an old MK6 Airsporter I believe is 1979 to 1983 and would have been the old 5.6mm which are bloody hard to find. I bought a tin of Remington Tyrant hammer domed I tested some on a vernier and the top dome is only .215 = 5.461mm and the bottom skirt is .225 = 5.715mm. Would think this would cause inaccuracy as the dome seems a loose fit. So think I'm stuck with the wasps. Cheers Arry

I think I read somewhere BSA pellets were just Wasps but in a BSA tin. Older English airguns had a bore of 5.6mm and newer ones are 5.5mm and most pellets are 5.5mm, so I'm lead to believe. So I've been trawling forums and I end up more confused as a lot of lads don't seem to like the new Wasps that are no longer made by Eley. So I've since found out the Defiant pellets are supposed to be made for older English guns was hoping some lads might have some feed back. Cheers Arry

Since posting thread I have read about Defiant pellets supposedly specially made for old English guns so may order some of them. The only supplier I can find is on Irish eBay, any body got any feed back on these pellets please? https://www.ebay.ie/itm/132316473129 Cheers Arry

Lads I resently done up a old BSA Airsporter i've been reading the best pellet would be 5.6mm for old English guns. Can anybody recommend a good pellet as the 5.6mm seems like rocking horse shit to find. I see on some forums that the Wasp pellets are not recommenced even though they are 5.6mm. Cheers Arry

Just thought if you are testing inside your house the TV, fluorescent tubes even mobil phone will interfere. If out side wire fences and sheet metal will interfere and give that white noise. Cheers Arry

It's the on /off switch, this can be replaced. They sell there on eBay if you put in ferret finder spares. Have a look at calibrating MK1 at the top of Ferreting page on here. Try this first take the back off the box then remove the wheel on on/off switch then should see a white or yellow cover to the top switch carefully remove and with a bit of Methylated spirts and a cotton bud carefully clean the carbon resistant horse shoe shaped bit inside. turn the switch and do again. Take the battery off first would probably be a good idea. Hope this might help. Atb. Cheers Arry

Recon they been dumped by some b*****d as you say some ferrets implying more than one, unusual for somebody to lose more than one unless they have escaped from a hutch. Somebody who is fed up because theres no rabbits or just the end of the season. Found them dead on the road nearly always by a gateway were they have stop the car chucked them over the gate drove off and the ferret has walk back out onto the road looking for the owner. As above but I use a Squirrel live trap I also have a mink trap that works well baited with meat, A bit of mince meat in one of those little red onion bags that hold three. But if you walk around and you see one it might come to you or you may be able to pick it up. Might pay to take a pair of gloves mate as even some tame ferrets are one man ferrets. One of mine will nip a stranger some times but never me. Cheers Arry
