  4. I think the main reason for using lean meat is so that it keeps. The venison I did was serious work on the jaw as you say. If you use meat that a bit fatty think it would be a good idea to eat it in a few days. Cheers Arry

  8. Well Asked my Brother in Law He paid £2500 but researched it big time, also got 2 bike racks for free and sold one on eBay. He has done thousands of miles on it loves it. The other thing he said was look for end of season deals when new models are coming out, September'ish. Obviously the better the bike the more you pay, but could start at about £1500. Cheers Arry

  10. This is the Recipe I use mainly you can tweak it any way you want, But a good idea to write it down so if you get a good batch. I aways seem to forget and think I will remember. Of coarse I don't so can't replicate the batch. With this recipe I do add Maple syrup to sweeten it a bit Honey would do it. I've tried a few different cuts of Beef but up till now I find the Beef Skirt the best. If you want it chewy cut with the grain of the meat if you want it more tender cut across the grain. I have tried Venison and don't know if it was the cut I was given but was like chewing boot leathe

  12. Yea I make jerky but make mine out of beef skirt in a dehydrator did a few posts in living of the land section. Mainly marinate in. Soy Sause Worcestershire sause Black pepper Liquid smoke Onion powder Garlic powder Seasoned salt The dehydrator I mainly use for drying the fungi I forage, but it's great for Jerky. To do in the oven at a low setting maybe with the door ajar. Cheers Arry

  14. I walked down to the ponds one evening to the green area with the car park and crept up to the left to a area of scrub with my camera and bins looking for the Boar. As I walked slow and as quiet as I could through this area that had been felled some years before then grown over. The brambles ferns erupted the bloody Sow and piglets were about three feet away, I nearly shit myself and never got a photo. The next day wifey says there they are fifty yard from the cottage lol. I worked in a big factory in maintenance, there where loads of Microwaves in all the tea stations and canteen. Every year a lady came around with a geiger counter to test each one. Jokingly I said I bet you never find any that are faulty or leak, she answered well put it this way I won't have one in my house. Cheers Arry
