I'm meeting a friend tomorrow who has just finished his last course of treatment. Apart from tiredness, he hasn't had any side effects . The ward sister rang a special bell to send him on his way and to signify successful treatment. He's now officially in remission.

I should have made it clearer that I was referring to a less than salubrious area of a less than salubrious town, Sunderland. I refuse to call it a City, as at the time it had neither of the pre-requisites of a cathedral or university and it was only granted the status of “City” after many years of the inhabitants weeping , wailing and teeth gnashing at the perceived , but unwarranted, injustice of their magnificent neighbour, Newcastle , being so superior Cheers. (but my best pal of 50 years is a Mackem ).
