One of my geekier habits is identifying and counting road kill. Drives my Mrs mad when I stop and reverse to eyeball a particularly interesting road kill. I used to regularly travel to Aberdeen to see my grandkids. I once counted over 70 pheasant kills on a particular stretch of the motorway and over 20 mountain hares on a few mile stretch of road passing through Glenshee. I used to let my whippets course them when it was quiet. You can always claim they were pets and had never done that before. The hares are stupid . Even Mc'hulls desert dogs might stand a chance.

I’ve got the same rifle in .17hmr and honestly I don’t do a deep clean until groups start opening up. I just run patches every session and maybe a nylon brush now and then. When I do use a brass brush, I push it all the way through and pull it back, no need to unscrew it each time. The bore guide is worth using though, keeps the rod straight and stops wear at the chamber.
