I think it is just common courtesy and a sure sign that you are reliable. Just yesterday my missus had an appointment I was taking her to, the appointment was at 9:30 and at 9:10 I said “ come on , let’s go “. She said “ there’s plenty time”, so I said ok, get a taxi or the bus, because I’m not going to be a party to you being late. She had a “ face on” but got in the car. We got there at 9:25, and she was called at 9:30 ! I didn’t say anything ,but the smug look on my face probably said it all Cheers. That sounds just like my Mrs...I keep telling her she's on Jamaican time...I wouldn't care but she's born in nottingham...lol I suppose I'm like most of you lot..I'm often an hour early for jobs..although most of the time it's out of necessity because all our jobs say be on site for 8am....trouble is if I'm driving an hour or two to get there I could be late because of morning traffic

Ain't none of us wanting to be at work , but it needs to be done , so you just get your head down and do it. I have them turn up without a coat , then they want me to take them home to get one if it starts raining. That's 5 year old stuff , not f***ing 25 year old stuff. One of the best , was when a bloke turns up on Monday morning, and tells me that I'll need to run him home before we start working ( its only about two miles up the road)to feed his dog . I said , couldn't you feed him before you came to work ? , he said , no , I went out straight after work on Friday, and I haven't been home yet. What an absolute knob. Sometimes I ask myself if I'm just being a miserable old c**t , but I'm not , I've just got absolutely zero tolerance for that kind of bollocks. 1
Born Hunter 18,188 Posted Thursday at 19:32 Report Share Posted Thursday at 19:32 Tbh folks turning up early is as bad as folks turning up late imo. Just get there at the agreed time I hate wasting time so I plan to arrive with enough leeway to cover me 90% of the time. And if I make good time I’ll either have “five minutes” or get something else done to kill time without turning up early. Occasionally things go wonky but we’re all busy people so as long as it’s 10% and not 90% most folks understand. Timekeeping goes hand in hand with presentation imo too. Wash, groom, dress appropriately. Really common these days for people to turn up to white collar type interviews in hoodies or whatever which I find mind blowing.

When my daughter in law is here she still thinks she’s on Saudi time where they go shopping at 11 o’clock at night. I go as soon as the shops open in the morning, get it over with and have the rest of the day doing important things like being out with the dogs or being at the allotment Cheers. 2

I hate late people , lad who works with me is always late then sits in his truck for another 5 mins with out getting out. Had a job almost next door to his house, I was still on job before him, then he comes walking down the road at snails pace. Hoodies piss me off, grown adults wearing them and trackies to a decent restaurant.

It must be in their culture, I was out with a mate stalking on Wednesday and he’s just come back from Saudi, he was an instructor for 3 years on the typhoons, he said they are really professional people to work with but seem to give themselves a window of time to turn up in rather than being there at 6 am they’ll take 15 minutes either way
