if you look into the multi day ultras like the moab 240 in Utah some do that with no sleep or micro naps on the trail between 0-3 hours over the 60 to 90 hours

3 days non stop, that was working and a week (4 am Monday to 3pm Saturday) snatching an hour here and there in the cab of the van waiting for other people, also working.
3 of us cleared 19 floors of mixed kit in that week working day and night.

I don’t recommend it, it’s dangerous, you start hallucinating late at night on motorways and stuff, it’s ok when you are actually on your feet moving about….its the driving in between that catches you out.

Over the course of my career I’ve done 3 / 4 days regular with a handful of hours in snatched periods

two in particular catch my mind , a Monday night till a Friday morning with about 4 hrs snatched intermittently. It was f***ing horrific but unbelievably I drove with my mate to kendal from thetford immediately afterwards.

that pales into insignificance to my worst one though . I was teaching at oakhampton on a Thursday morning but instead the must teach lesson was delayed . It started at 1800 and was about 3 hours long . I packed up and left and drove to Ipswich where I had to spin around after doing all the return stores rigmarole immediately and make the haul up the A1 to Carlisle . I got home and attended my wife’s aunties funeral , the wake then we got changed and went to a wedding afterwards . I’ve never ever been as grateful to hit a bed that Saturday morning , I was absolutely in tatters .

I have rarely ever slept well in my life , I am a nocturnal animal by habit , I dread to think of the knock on effects the sleep pattern I have had since I was about 14 has had on me .

Got up at 06:30 to sort the kids, went to work and we had a breakdown that shut the plant down, worked all day, all night and all the next day till 16:00.

Went home, had a shower and went out on the piss (Friday) fell asleep in the pub after 2 pints 😁

Cheers, D.

Longest I’ve done without help ( wizz and E’s 😂 ) was about 30 hours when I was working for a haulage company, stared work at 7am at 6pm I was sent to Scotland to a chemical tanker crash on my way back in the early hours I got a phone call from the police about another chemical tanker accident near Newcastle, I got home about 1pm, I don’t remember anything about the second accident or driving home after 24 hours I think I was just on autopilot
