I had a dog that used to go get itself ice creams , he’d follow the van round and knock people out the way to get to front and eat a double 99 in a bite before making his way home howling with brain freeze

the same dog would lie all day in the Back garden at my granddads house In The summer and watch for vans , any type escorts , transits , sprinters pulling up on the square we lived in . He had a particular penchant for parcel line ones . When they pulled up he was off , over the wall then the front gate and would either bail in the van if it was open or circle frantically until the courier / plumber / roofer emerged . He associated vans with coursing and lamping so much he assumed every vehicle that type was to take him out .

Funny things dogs aren’t they

That’s a genetic trait In clever dogs  that carry the  Ice cream hunter genetics for ya  , this dog would jump into the van so gino found it easier to give quickly lol

Might be of interest for some.      Rainham was the first known centre of coursing in Essex. And where the first running of the Barbican cup was run and  The first recorded meeting was held there in 1845, and coursing continued intermittently until the marshes were sold in 1906 to the War Office , the marshes were 12 mile from center of London a place where us and most folk for miles would go to for a days hunting altho the war office changed the nature of the land in the war with rifle ranges  it changed from coursing land to rat rabbit n fox heaven

I’ve had a few Salukis, pures and crosses, and I’ve always considered them amongst the most stupid of the canine species; but I’ve obviously had the wrong ones, some mentioned on here should enter Britains Got Talent, they’d win the £250,000 first prize hands, ( or should that be “paws”), down !😂👍

Cheers.

You've also have never seen 3-4-5 minute runs they was exaggerated aye on a stopwatch 1 min feels like 5 was what I think you said

Now a dog cant open a door lol

To be fair the more lurcher in em the more they were good at it always at it

Couldn’t agree more that black lurcher with the ice cream could open latched doors and handled windows  , he had a canny habit of opening me bedroom door on only windy nights  to wake me up to take him on the lamp lol

I’ve seen plenty REAL 3-4-5 minute runs, I’ve also seen plenty 1-2-3 minute runs that people thought were a lot longer.

Can you quote where I said a dog can’t open a door ?

Cheers.

Thats how id expect a greyhound to look straighter in  the back but muscle wise

You can see its not hard at it by the muscle been to heavy but its not far off theres not weight on it is there.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea
