That is very true. talking to a family member the other day, They have been on his case for the last decade, only last month they informed him that the equity in his house had gone up and reminded him he still owed them 97k. threatening another year in nick, relentless c**ts they are,

Once the financial detective is on your case the game isn’t over,they ask you to list this that and the other,bank accounts,safety deposit boxes,assets,they don’t have the resources or info to track down everything unless you tell them,plus once you get a figure your solicitor can haggle it down.

they make up a sum  they think you’ve earned and your paying it or your getting jailed longer and once out it doesn’t get payed in the time they say your off back again

From what I understand, property’s a good front for running a legitimate business - you can loan money through other companies, buy low, inflate the sell on, conceal your ownership through complex webs / shell companies. Unless you’ve an extensive empire, the issues with property is the inheritance tax and if you need to make a quick sale - if you had a 1M gaff and needed to sell it today you’re not going to get 1M for it and getting the cash won’t be instant

 

I always thought metals like gold and silver (bars / coins) were good choices. Silver is used everywhere and has gone up loads over the years. They also tend to rise during recession and war. Plus you can get a quick sale for market rate

As I understand, UK issued gold coins are exempt from CGT (UK), rules here (FR) is exemption after 10 years. It reached an all time high very recently - due to all this Israel carry on no doubt. 

High end watches I reckon have got to be a good way to move money around discretely, if you had the need.

I may be wrong as I don’t know much about watches, but they seem a lot of hassle. They’re probably good for giving someone a kick back instead of cash but to make any decent money on them, I imagine you’d have to sit on them for a while or be so high up the chain in that industry
