When my youngest lad is a few years older, he'll be 2 in March, I can very well see me getting another whippet.

Too old for a 'powerhouse' type lurcher now, with all the 'commitment' that goes with them.

Yep, a nice, smallish, easily looked after, gentle, easy to deal with WHIPPET!!

Could well be just the job.

get it done shaark another youngster at it only a good thing mate ?

Bird, there's only one track still racing greyhounds in Wales, the valley stadium in Ystrad Mynach, caerphilly.

Owned and raced greyhounds, over the years.

Still prefer whippets, especially nowadays ?

i know what you mean, i had none ped little bitch 20 in 20lb fast great on rabbits as well as racing at the track ive said many time some males down the track 22in 34 lb , strong little dogs pile into foxes if you let  them lol, full of fire them buggers were , prob the greyhound and staff, in there genes way back still put bit of fire in them. i know whippets fetch daft prices today that ped and none peds, me self think if wanted small type dog, i might go for for grew = whippet x grey, some 23 in 50lb, thats not over big really is it?  but thats just me , but i do like dog with good coat on it , thats why stick with the lurcher.

Our whippet missed this trend, lb for lb he is the most destructive dog I've ever owned. Just when I think there's nothing left on show he can f... up it's not unusual to come home and the collie lurcher is at the front door like "it wasn't me" and the whippet is by the back door ready to get ejected ?

Been thinking about it myself as i could not do a decent lurcher justice and i would end up getting in bother though i am leaning more to some type of whippet x like my mates old dog who i had for a week when he went away and has never been as gutted when he lost her she was a brilliant mooching dog with the catapult and one of most good natured house dog i have ever had the pleasure to have around for a short wile and she was a springer whippet.
