Yes , the rivers i fish are full of them , especially the Calder . They can be an absolute nuisance if you go down with a maggot feeder , they will be on your bait as soon as you put your rod down and are a pain for deep hooking . I like catching them on the float though . Last time I went trotting for a couple of hours I had about a dozen in amongst the dace and chublets and 4 were over 2lb . I try and get them on lures now if I can . Don’t get as many but it’s not as hard as you’d think

Do they spawn like trout? We dont have them here in northern ireland,

To be honest I don’t know . They are classed as coarse fish over here and come under the coarse season but that’s as much as I know .
If you ever get a chance to have a go over here take it . They are a good fighting fish especially when they get in the current with that big fin up . The hardest thing with grayling is trying to get a decent photo , they are a bit lively and you can end up looking like you’re trying to juggle a bar of soap when they start .

Real hard going today, done an afternoon session on the river Tone... managed 1 decent chub and a grayling, plus a handful of minnows... the kingfisher beside me had a few as well....

They spawn at the same time as coarse fish  . There is a great little you tube video of males fighting and the winner getting his girl ?

That's a beauty ? ? Where abouts is angling direct. Always thought that was an online company. Didn't know they had stores too

Pretty much nationwide I think,I live within 30 mile of 3 different outlets that usually stock everything I need , including fake fish lol?

Cheers mate just brought it up there's one in Leeds so guna have a run through

Only thing to mention is that if your looking for a specific item on their web site it may well show as in stock but you need to ring first to confirm as quite often it's not and you will have a wasted trip ?
