In a topic that involves ,football ,and NUFC  , Max could make Greb seem like a reasonable chap who doesn't like a never ending argument .

He'd have a saluki and a white bed sheet bought the day they took over.

Given that no one agrees with you I’d suggest it ain’t. Its Max-sense and Max-morals.... Part of the greater world view that is Maxology

The problem with buying a mid table, third tier team is how do you attract the top players ?

You may get mercenaries in the twilight of their careers, who demand top wages, but you won't get the top players who want to play against the best in the Premier or Europe.

Any player going to a third tier club knows it will be at least two or three seasons, if they are lucky, before they are back in the Premier.

And even if they go down the mercenary route, looking for a quick escape to the second tier, how will they pay them, with the wage cap coming in ?

Top players are far more likely to come to a mid table Premier team, who can pay them, and have a chance of European qualification.

Cheers.

Yeah, I was being a bit generous when I said Skoda....Skoda’s are decent

I should have said Trabant ! Lol

My point was, using your car analogy, is that Maserati's don't come cheap and do not always appreciate in value. Skoda's on the other hand are relatively cheap (actually decent cars these days and not that cheap but I digress), and it is easier to buy a Skoda and work hard with the ambition of trading up and in the future ending up with a Maserati. I'm not sure that seriously wealthy businesses or individuals buy big football clubs these days in the expectation of it staying in the black. The benefits of owning a high profile football club these days is maybe more complicated than that.

I love listening to fans of these massive great big clubs scratching around pleading and praying for foreign investment while my little mobs owned by the geezer up the road....its all very satisfying..............be even better if the c**ts would stick their hands in their pockets occasionally !

That Soucek looks tidy though gnasher. He's in my Fantasy Premier League team. If he strike an understanding with Antonio they should do well.

No your right mate he looks a nice player certainly looks handy around set pieces.....we take the piss out of Antonio but what a player he,s been for us....kept us up almost single handed last year if we can keep a few more players fit i fancy us for at least 16th again this season ?

I thank Ashley for pumping 80 mill into your recruitment to get yous out of the Championship not to mention him bailing yous out in the first place when he came to NCL ?

He did indeed. No complaints there. We were the only Premier League club to end the 2018/19 season in the black according to some reports. His business savvy cannot be questioned. But in regard to improving the club where it matters to the supporters, the football being played, can you honestly say that we should be happy? Asking for your honest opinion from a self entitled wanker.
