The cantons circumvented the laws, sold weed in "Smell bags" to sniff in health shops in the end.

I remember it being sold as drawer fresheners. In a little cloth bag you were meant to put in your sock drawer or something to make it smell nice - opened the cloth bag and inside was a baggie.

It’s interesting it’s all gone like that the stuff from USA is exactly the same.

Yup, there is normal, but the cali-weed lookalikes are popular in Europe.

Do you think it’s just that the ‘look’ has the association of being ‘Cali weed’ and beloved of the wannabe cool Kid hip hop generation ?

It just reeks, no smell no sell was the old adage, sometimes the strain has the most gorgeous tangerine, or skittles, or coffee bouquet, quality sells, the place is awash, its a buyers market, unless its AAA it will be hard to shift.

Very true. It’s funny when you look back at the up and down in quality that’s been seen on these shores over the years ! From the truly sublime to the absolute dog shit.

Seen some awful stuff over the years cut with sand or down fibre glass stuff to make it look crystalline, stuff that’s had the oil extracted already, and the usual under grown and blast dried etc.

Quality has got a lot better but I think variety has shrunk here in terms of range while there are lots of new strains if that makes sense. Lots of variation on the same theme.

Consumer dictates the market, that's why albi gangs churn out stardog and ammo on a commercial scale for the low end, and Runtz, zuchi, jungle boys stuff etc gets in from cali, oregon and Canada for the more cannaseur or upper range of the market.

The mechanical trimming deffo made a big difference. I guess it’s ended a labour market ? I’ve wasted a lot of hours with a nail scissors but it’s rather satisfying!

Ah yes, the gunk on the scissors ? The perk of trimming ?

That pretty much sums it up mate. With the nice side of little home and guerrilla grows.
