What’s the difference between average and very good dogs

Abit like “he calls dogs Jukels, he must be in the know” hahaha 😂😂😂 just a mad word that wasn’t in my vocabulary. Won’t be staying there either 👍👍👍

Lol I've read it thousands of times over the years, especially on here the last 10 years. But I have NEVER heard anyone actully saying it! Lol. Cur, mutt, lurcher, yes, but NOT jukel lol. Perhaps if I'd have referred to my LURCHERS as JUKELS, I might have had more success with them? 😐. But I doubt it! Lol 👍

I’m feeling more like a “Real Dogman” by the second. Keep em coming lads, keep em coming 😂

Keep it simple mate. Just stick with LURCHER 🙂. The more you read, the more words, descriptions etc etc you read and hear, will just leave you a gibbering wreck, no good for your sanity. Nope,  praise the good old LURCHER 🙂 👍. Oops, how remiss of me,......... the above still applies, unless it's a LONGDOG 🙂. But it could still be a 'jukel' 😐. See what I mean?! 😄

The average bred lurcher is more than enough dog for the majority of lurcher owners past and present, this type of jukel will never ever need to become anything other than what it is and what it was bred for.Ill warrant if ego,s and the tinternet never played a part in the reputation of the mutt and owner then the average lurcher would be a beast we could all live in contentment with.In the not to distant past some outstanding owners wanted a mutt a tad above average, not the one trick pony and thick as fack dross many see as the elite lurcher now, mutts that ran a tad smarter for a tad longer, mutts that could cope with the differing terrain and a multitude of tasks and do them all in a fashion that is a lost art,on the whole, now. The folk that want something a tad more than average are only kidding themselves and their ego, what they own is more than enough and they should respect their charges more and become more honest with themselves.Find a lurcher bred now thats equipped to encourage the lurcher owner to put the time and effort in to go up a level, again im not talking about the one trick pony,s and second rate lurcher that needs the lamp to outwit and encumber what it cannot connect with daytime.A decent average jukel is what most should aspire to own, nothing else will ever compete with such a dog and give as much hunting pleasure.

I read first two lines.. and then thought nahhh... f@@k that...

Another favourite is "there's plenty if you know where to look" as if only they know of the best most worked jukels and are in the inner circle.

Lots say it so this inner circle spreads all over england, has 1000's of people in it and there advertising it on the internet.

If you are lucky enough to own a very good dog that you really rate, you don't mind when it shits in its run, stands in the crap  and then jumps up to greet you and covers you in shit. You don't mind when it pukes in the car ,gets itself wrapped up in barbed wire and costs you a packet at the vets. You laugh it off when it whines in frustration for two hours on the way to a lamping session. When it misses an easy strike you make excuses for it. When it pops its clogs it's like a family bereavement. A very good dog is not just about ability, it's indefinable. Why do you marry one woman, give her all your money and  think the world of your kids when you never fancied marriage in the first place? You can't explain it rationally.it's probably as much about how you gel with a dog as well as its ability.

I think what your saying is that it ticks boxes on a subconscious level which then gives you the “feeling” of how good a dog is...or woman 👍 I agree with you. We do try to work out things from a rational point of view but there is always the “x factor” and this factor normally overrides any rational thinking. The gut instinct you could call it. You just know when you know . Like a spiritual awakening. The aaaaah!
