No subsidised energy for the industry! In the eyes of the EU and it's non competitive claus, the government cannot give any company or industry a competitive advantage over others who are EU members (hence Ireland is being fined for giving multi national companies very favourably low business rates). Add to that, that all our energy companies are foreign owned, our energy supplies (gas, nuclear, coal etc) are at the whim of foreign powers and yet we have some of the richest deposits in the world (some of which are being massively exploited for others under EU allowance, like our fish). Add to all this, governments who have sold us down the line for decades. That's why our car industry and every other industry is bollocksed in Blighty. Same as the steel industry. No subsidised energy. Energy is expensive due to environmental costs. So we shut down steel works (shut down and made beyond further use by foreign companies we sold em to). We still use as much steel, but now its made in China and India (who are building coal powered power stations) but then its also transported round the world. Mental. Yes governments are responsible. But we put those people their. The answer is in our hands.

tatsblisters 7,946
More reason for stopping unskilled labour coming in from the EU then those in Swindon will have more chance of getting another job when Honda closes .
Jonjon79 13,340
Honda have said that their decision has nothing to do with Brexit - it's just more spin from Remainer scaremongers. Besides, there's land 500yrds from the Honda factory that is being developed and having massive warehouses built - There's still going to be jobs.

Yes the same leaders that would strike quicker than a swan Vesta fs, there’s no milk for the tea, strike, the biscuits are done, strike. Only ourselves to blame and every union rep I knew was easily bought by so called power and a cushy office and a back hander and that rep now works against you for the better of the company
