Shame as he’s a top dog man.
Cheets.

I have never heard anyone say anything different about him especially greyhounds or coursers a very knowledgeable lad that could give a more input in certain topics but his football knowledge I do draw the line 🙄cheets knows what I mean

Max and I get on well but we are polar different in our football, but I can make the distinction between football and dogs.
He’s a dog man whose bred winning greyhounds and coursing dogs, now he’s on a quest to breed a lurcher as fast as a non-ped whippet.
I help him in supplying the breeding of the non-peds he’s interested in and hope he gets what he’s after.

Cheers.

Do they use ped's in the dog racing world, I beg the proper top men do?

Pedigree whippets have their own organisation, but we have classes for peds and non- peds at most, if not all ,clubs.

Obvioulsly , to win a Racing Championship in the pedigrees , is just as successful as winning in the non-peds, but pedigree whippets simply can’t compete with a non- ped whippets for speed.

Yes, of course non-ped whippets are heavily greyhound influenced, but that’s the point, to get a dog the size of a whippet with the speed of the greyhound.

I can see where this will go, but it is what it is, the pedigree racers do their thing, the non-ped racers do their thing.

Cheers.

Well I must just be an old fashioned dog man … if I had to use steroids on my dogs, I’d give the game up.

Cheers.

I'm taking about performance enhancing drugs, I should have been more clear. They use them in horse racing, i should imagine it would be perhaps even more rife with the dogs as the testing won't be as strict?

It’s called “Christmas cake “ in the racing dog world, but I’ve never seen it in whippet racing, and I’m sure there is drug testing in greyhound racing where there is gambling.

Cheers.

Morning, taken a step back from quad bikes and hounds - Don’t need the grief anymore. Having moved house my country has changed, curious of those that do hunt the hills with their lurches and a terrier at your heel, how do you bring them on? Getting the right dog for the job is no brainier but what about the training? Thanks.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect
