One that I've cooked myself !

that is the worst joke i've seen on any thread.

That's just the paste Walshie you have to then cook meat and veg etc and add the portions depending on how much you make.   I have one recipe where you dry fry peppers and onions till they are reall

Jalfrezi but we make our own and they are miles nicer than anything you can buy from their shops

Check these recipes out, when you make it you get an egg box, line it will clingfilm and you end up with 6 portions which you can then freeze.

Give this one a go.....;-)http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lambcurrywithbasmati_84339

I couldn't eat lamb for years after working in Algeria because they either served mutton as lamb or their lamb just tasted disgusting...maybe was camel?

I love it now though, I'll have a look at that

It's my standard lamb curry now. It's lighter, fresher & healthier than anything in a curry house, which I'm sure you've found with your recepies.

....& it hasn't got 58 ingrediants! Haha

No Indian takeaways or restaurants near where i live , hundreds of pakistani food outlets working under the heading of Indian, but no real Indian restaurants .

No way am i paying someone who hates me and my culture ,, smiles to my face but dislikes me , spits in or does worse to my food , then gladly takes my money.

i wish everyone would boycot them , no matter how good a kebab looks after a few pints ,

Agreed mate, not been in the type you describe since i was 20! On the other hand my best mate is married to a Hindu girl so i get PROPER indian curries made for me regular, bloody good they are as well, she has also informed me which curry houses in Birmingham are actually Indian

A good Thai takeaway is my preference above others these days :-)

Made a red Thai curry last week, chicken and squid, excellent. Lasted me 3 days though  Lucky to have See Woo chinese cash and carry just 10 minutes away and they do loads of Thai curry mixes, fish sauce, shrimp paste, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, etc etc... although I do like to add about a dozen extra chillies.

Rabbit makes a nice Thai curry, provided you remove the silver skin and sinew.

I've been making them for years, but I've struggled to get paste I'm happy with lately. I made my own paste with home grown chillies last year, which lasted a good while, but I weren't particularly thrilled with that either! Haha...

They do vary enormously brand for brand, and I normally tweak it whichever base paste I use. I find the flavour develops greatly with the amount of fish sauce and dried shrimp paste you use.

I'm sure they used to be hotter years ago, could be wrong though, I wonder if they have altered the heat/flavour to suit western palates?

They do vary a hell of a lot! I've found the drier, finer pastes to lack flavour? I like a looser, less processed one. I was using a great one here for a while from a local Thai shop, of course the shop closed & I can't find it anywhere now! Haha...
