Celebrities normally try to be popular with the public but dabbling in politics will make a lot of people dislike you. It's like how there were almost no Trump supporting Hollywood stars, if they came out for Trump they would probably never work again. The only one that comes to mind is Jon Voight. I wouldn't be suprised if the likes of Mel Gibson and Kurt Russel also supported him. But you're right. On the more general topic of this thread, I think celebs feel they have a social duty to be political because of their position. At the same time they're no better placed to make a political judgement than a mechanic or builder! I have a bit of respect for the likes of Angelina Jolie mind, she seems to be able to keep her political activities to raising awareness rather than treating joe public as stupid people who have to be told how to vote by the enlightened ones.
