I'm happy with my 30 quid haix army issue boots off eBay sod spending 300 on a pair of boots I've got kids to feed.

Haix, comfy, well made, good design, cheap, better than Lowa imo  Cheers, D.

It depends on the person wearing them, there is hacking and there is hacking. Some lads wouldn't wear out a pair of slippers on a building site and others would want to kick a brick up the road in fron

buying a pair on saturday either the glockners or dovre 2 my mates got the dovre one with no bother other boys are letting in after not much use

I had a pair of Dovres once. I ended up giving them away to someone on here as I didn't get on with them. However, in their defence, they were great boots. Bomb proof and didn't let water in, it was simply because I've always preferred lightweight footwear (trail runners etc) so I was exhausted when I wore them. Conversely, my Lundhag Scout and Forest boots are almost 1/4 kg lighter per pair!

It’s a minefield sometimes. I know lads who wear the Dovre and they’re very happy with them. The Glockners look a better boot than the burmas so I’ll be getting those when I get somewhere to try them

I bought haix work boots, but had external stitches and peeled open like a Terry's orange after a week of stick welding lol. Put me off.

My altbergs are cheaper , but uncomfortable at the ankle/top poorly finished, if my lowas were a bit lighter be a better boot, very robust and comfortable.

I don’t get on with them altbergs at all either same as yourself sore ankles in them

Best/comfiest boots I've ever owned were Danner pronghorns and if I ever manage to wear out these bloody lowas I'll get another pair lol. Although they let in water during third season I did serious millage in them in wet conditions and through bog and streams. Left them abroad as used to use them as a summer boot, but wear trail trainers these days.
