I really think people are today getting sick of 'words' and want 'action' and the party that delivers action will come to the fore, whoever it may be. BGD I do admire your enthusiasm for Corbyn, but being realistic do you really think he has a chance at becoming a Prime Minister? In all honesty? I think he's got more chance than the shower of shite in the PLP Honestly though my and others support for Corbyn isn't just about him leading us to some great socialist victory in a GE, it's about changing the internal workings of the party making it more democratic giving power back to the members and trying to undo the damage done by Kinnock, Blair and Brown. He can then lay the ground work for a younger more dynamic leftist leader to take over from him and who knows where they will lead the party. Oblivion springs to mind What are you basing your pessimism on? Labour have done well in every election they've fought since Corbyn became leader and their poll numbers aren't looking terrible. He's also mobilised massive grassroots support the likes of which no political party in this country has seen for decades. Who in the PLP do you think would do a better job? The world is changing. Britain in the 70's is France today. Left wing policies being usurped by an increasingly capitalist society. Labour of the forties and fifties can hold their heads high. But since Kinnock it's been downhill all the way. That's exactly what we're fighting to reverse pal, will it make Labour more electable? Feck knows but it's worth a go considering no one in the rest of party seems to have any ideas other than copy the Tories, why would anyone vote for a Labour party copying Tory policy when the Tories are so much better at being Tories? But hey, never mind, at least Homos can get "married" ! You couldn't make it up ! The ordinary people who now have more money in their pocket thanks to the increase in wages you mean? The whole economy benefits from more money in the pockets of ordinary folk. I mean if you've got an economic study showing the benefit of the increase in wages was completely offset by an increase in the price of consumer goods I'd be interested to see it but I don't think that's the case. It was changed so establishment candidates could be parachuted into safe seats, the birth of the donkey in the red rosette... The raise in the minimum wage and taking the lowest earners out of income tax brackets are two things I'll applaud Cameron for.
