beast 1,884
H&S is what, exactly? the only official bodies which can claim to be "H&S" would be the local environmental health dept or the health and safety executive. neither of these bodies want to ban very much, but they do want things approached in a safe way. this may mean producing risk assessments, providing correct PPE, certification of workers etc. the people who ban activities are THE SCHOOLS< COLLEGES< EMPLOYERS THEMSELVES! they lack the knowledge/skill/will/balls to ensure activities are safe and therefore ban them. so in the case of mortar board-throwing, they might decide to issue hard hats which can be worn if you are scared of being hit!!! in regard to young people, we get so many through the gate here who dont last a year even, they just keep breaking down. a childhood spent on the x box does not provide adult bone and muscle capable of wear and tear; our job is moderately demanding, but couldnt compare to proper hard graft say being a stevedore like my dad was. im nearly 50 and i can outwork any of the 20 year olds working for me
BGD 6,437
Ba Ba black sheep was banned years ago in schools as being racist, it was changed to ba ba white sheep, because thats not racist, am i on the same planet as these clowns, i was a schoolkid in the sixties, all my mates and myself played football and rugby, there was a pecking order ,being cock of the walk was the name of the game, you fought each other if you lost it was no big deal, but at least you had a go, cowards that refused were despised. I dont believe the kids of today are any different, its the namby pamby brigade that are around teaching them political correctness that piss me off.Yeah that never happened pal. https://pcgonemadgonemad.wordpress.com/2011/10/16/hello-world/ stand corrected then mate nevertheless some tried.Birmingham council tried to ban the song for being racist......Black parents stood up and stopped it It says in the link some nurseries changed the word black......obviously for other reason why would they feel the same as Birmingham How many Places still sing the song???? So its not exactly a myth My little un came home from nursery singing "baa baa pink sheep have you any spots, yes sir yes sir on my pinkfluffy nose" You would think if they were changing it they wouldve made it rhyme and make sense! So looks like the ban really did take place, or you can bury your head in the sand and believe the propaganda. Did you even read the link? It says many schools have added verses to the song to make it more interesting for the kids. Ryaldinhio's post just confirms that Bunch of grown men getting their knickers in a bunch over a nursery rhyme ffs

Ryaldinhio's post just confirms that Bunch of grown men getting their knickers in a bunch over a nursery rhyme ffs A simple nursery rhyme but also a small piece of something larger like the schools around here no longer having a nativity at Christmas It also say in the link that they follow stringent rules ......they take equal opportunities approach to everything they do and no one should be pointed out because of race or gender or anything else
Blackbriar 8,569
Anyway, back to H&S....... I can remember when "Safety Training" consisted of little more than "that's sharp, that's hot and you're best staying well away from that !". That type of approach, however, requires at least a smidgeon of common sense and, as we've often noticed on here, the trouble with common sense is that it isn't all that common ! And let's put the nursery rhyme thing to rest... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/600470.stm

Tell your kids to sing it in school, some liberal leftard member of staff will be on them like a rash telling them it's not allowed.

Tell your kids to sing it in school, some liberal leftard member of staff will be on them like a rash telling them it's not allowed. It did happen and they did try to officially ban it, just those people who should of been offended weren't and stood up and said they weren't. Was at school for Christmas nativity ( in Cornwall we that backward we still have them ) and I was being explained to by the headmaster who the father of the new family was who offered to help me put a hedge up, " medium height, blue jeans, t-shirt and now drinking tea, i'll go introduce him. " I was helpfully told, " you mean the black one ? I'll go speak to him myself." Seriously, was 1 black man in a room of maybe 150 people, and people are that conditioned by liberals to be colour blind is laughable, pretty much everyone in ear shot of me gasped at my rabid racism apart from my wife who pretty much expects it and the guys wife who just looked over and said yep that's my other twat.

Madness'..In my school days we had an "interesting table" where we put things we'd found out and about. End of the day our teacher always discussed what was on the table. There were broken birds eggs, old nests, various animal skulls, fungus's, leafs, wild flowers, conkers etc and on my school report one of my subjects was "rural studies". Those were the days
