Its got to be me only been lamping twice in my life funnily enough with the same lad and about a year ago. First time he said stick with me we went into the darkness he walked right into a flock of ewes who started bleating two in the morning he then flashed his light across the farmhouse bedroom windows five minutes later torches every where and about 6 big burly game keepers and blue lights coming along the track had to walk back as my jeep was on the track got back turns out hed brought me on the Duke of Bridgewaters Estate he told me he had permission on the land up near Lancaster the police asked what we were doing I said walking the dog luckily only one with us, the police said you are lamping the other lad had hid the lamp he said to the police and gamekeepers how do you know we are not lovers :bad::icon_redface: it went down like a lead balloon especially with me. They let us go apparently lack of evidence. The same lad three weeks later out again on some land early morning plod all over us he had only brought me to some land next to a high security psychiatric unit again let off with a warning never again will me and a lamp come within hundred yards of each other.

A lot to be said for hunting alone.

As i have stated in one of my previous posts (about the three men drinking and lamping with a gun, which duly attracted the attention of the police) i always hunt alone, therefore only being responsible for my own actions.resulting in virtually no spoiled strolls at night.

Local lad nagged me to take him and his dog with me, anyway id slipped my dog on a rabbit which came running straight down the beam towards me my dog was about 2feet behind it when it was about 30 feet from me i heard him say go on lass and he slipped his dog fortunately the inevitable collision was only slight as the hit the side of each other. The collision of my fist on his chin was harder, needless to say that was the first and last time we ever went. YIS KIC.

Took a fella out once, quick shine of the lamp and a big pair of eyes appear by the hedgerow...I'm thinking we are on here, whisper to the fella 'shhh I'll try call him in', next thing I know the bloke starts making clicking noises and whistling as if calling a dog. I laughed so much forgot all about the lamping!

I've punished a few gobshite hammerheads with my long distance route marches, made sure they never asked to come out again, think i nearly hobbled one of them, ended up having to carry his lamp and battery as well as my own and the catch thought i was going to have to call an ambulance when he started complaining of chest pains lol

My Mrs as well, was doing roo shooting on a few cattle stations coz the numbers were getting out of control. She complained about every thing, gun is too loud, it's too cold, poor animals, this is so cruel, can we put some music on, I'm bored, they stink etc fook me after 6 hours I nearly shot her and chucked her on the back of the ute with the roos. She's gotten a lot better now, if i need a hand she'll come along and gets stuck in without whinging too much haha. She more than makes up for it in helping care for the dogs though, I haven't picked up a turd in 4 yrs
