ftm 3,357
im sure there one of a very few breeds that don't give you any "warning" signs before attack I wouldn't trust one that's for sure! -each to there own though
Born Hunter 17,907
Only Akita I've ever known is the softest heap of fat and fur I've ever met. Soft as a f***ing brush. Big, lazy dog that would make a cracking rug but that's about it. I don't think this bitch is particularly representative of the breed though.....
Lenmcharristar 10,251
Any I've seen have been people attackers and not one I've seen made old bones due to being put down after biting people, even attacking their owners. That's only the ones I've known.
peterhunter86 8,627
I don't trust the sneaky cnuts Lol why not it's how they are trained my friend has Akita x malamute and that dog is not a dog ild like to meet anywhere to be honest My mate had one I was with that dog nearly every day since it was a pup and every time me or someone was around that dog he would just stare at you waiting for you to do something wrong you could tell he wanted to bite someone. A coal yard up the road from me had them and some crossed with Rottweilers they were the most aggressive dogs I ever seen thank fook they never got a hold of anyone they definitely would of killed them

air gun ant 1,666
our lasses dad used to train them for the police force back in the day apparently, he died a couple years back tho so I cant really tell you much more.
shepp 2,285
Sounds like the gene pool is a bit small here.
dogmad riley 1,348
Never had any experience with an American akita but have with Japanese akitas. They were very protective. Both were people aggressive and I didn't trust them at all. Probably would make good a companion if trained right. They are dogs for experienced handlers in my opinion
Blackdog92 2,047
A mate of mine had one and once it gets to know you its ok but its not stranger friendly and it had been well socialized as a pup. Mabye its in there breeding to be that way. What was the original purpose of them?
